Devote half an hour a day to practice on strong areas to further strengthen them.

SNAP 2014 going to be held on 21.12.2014 will have 150 questions in all.  The gateway to prestigious management programmes 2015-17 batch in 13 Symbiosis B schools affiliated to Symbiosis International University SNAP 2014 will be paper pen mode Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based examination of two hours duration from 2PM to 4PM.

4 days to 4 sections

SNAP 2014 will be divided in four sections and as such will have specific sectional cut off also. Although the paper pencil based test will have comprehensive paper and candidates can attempt any question from any section, high sectional scores can only take you to final admission round in SIBM Pune.

The test will have the time duration of 2 hours ( 2.00 P.M. to 4 P.M.) and maximum marks will be 180. Usually, the questions asked in SNAP are  moderate but  a few of them flummox the aspirants well.

The 4 sections in SNAP 2014 are General Awareness; Analytical & logical Reasoning; Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension.

Every section in SNAP accounts for score calculation. Hence it is no good to consider any of the four sections less important while revising the same.

General Awareness: concurrent revision

This section in SNAP will have 40 questions carrying one mark each. According to Prof S K Agarwal expert on SNAP preparation, although any new GK questions related to current happenings may not be learnt as the test paper must have been prepared a fortnight back, the concurrent revision of whatever has been learnt is a must.

You may find more than 15 questions based on business, economics and finance in SNAP 2014.  There would also be the questions on national and international current affairs, committees, appointments, books and authors and other conventional topics.  Candidates are advised to prepare the stuff on current affairs related only up to a fortnight before the test.  Those who follow these guidelines are expected to do better in the test.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

This is the most important and scoring section in SNAP 2014. The questions in this section will have a maximum score of 60 with 30 questions i.e. 2 marks per question and those who practice more on the concepts advised by MBAUniverse.com are expected to perform better. The questions in this section are not expected to be very difficult but they are always more time consuming.  More and more practice exercises can equip you better to ace this section.

Major topics on which the problems in this section are based comprise statements, arguments, conclusion, Family tree, ranking, sets, analogy, followed conclusion. Analytical and Logical reasoning is based on natural human instincts and need a bit of more practice to crack the problems.  SNAP is the only test that gives 33 percent weight age to this section. The aspirants who really wish to crack the SNAP cannot do without it. The best part in this section is that a regular practice will carry you through this section with flying colours.

Quantitative Ability

This section in SNAP is usually moderate and more formula based. However, more time may be required to solve the forty questions in this section.  Third day to the exam may be fully devoted to practice the questions on Arithmatic, Algebra and modern mathematics as they play an important role in formation of questions.

The section needs better time management as despite being on moderate side the questions need more time to solve.

Verbal Ability & Reading comprehension

This section in SNAP 2014 will have 40 questions of 1 mark each. In view of Prof S K Agarwal, Expert on Verbal Ability the prominence of questions is expected on error corrections in sentences, fill in the blanks, words and phrases. Devote half an hour a day to practice on strong areas to further strengthen them.

Questions are good in English section and are based on core grammar concepts of usage in parts of speech, tenses, active-passive, phrases and compound words.  In vocabulary synonyms and antonyms, one word substitution, idioms and phrases play important role. Two comprehension passages although not very long but are moderately difficult.  The questions are not so difficult as we find in CAT yet they consume a good time of the aspirants. The questions on RC passages are more or less direct based on the information given in the passage. Questions are also based on phrases, parts of sentences words used in the passage.  SNAP has also been placing questions similar to earlier CAT exams like ‘tone of the passage’, ‘main idea’ or ‘title of the passage’.

2 questions are expected on Jumbled paragraphs in SNAP 2014. Each question is expected to have 4 small one line sentences to be formed in a coherent manner and there are jumbled paragraphs in which jumbled sentences are to be placed between the opening and concluding parts of sentences.  Since the questions are not so tricky, aspirants can attempt the same fairly easily with a little more practice.

Analogy that forms an integral part of English in SNAP is expected to have  two questions. They are not difficult and aspirants can attempt them well.  The only factor is time constraint.  Those who are able to manage the same can do well.

Please remember if you do not practice well, you may have to leave more number of questions, despite knowing their answers.

Overall SNAP 2014 examination needs a bit of more practice. Those who attempt the test with judicious time management may expect to get through with a high percentage.
