IMT Ghaziabad in association with Genpact Limited has announced to launch an analytics lab at its campus.

Speaking on the occasion of launching the Analytics Lab, Dr Bibek Banerjee, Director IMT Ghaziabad and Academic Mentor, IMT Group said, “The analytics lab gives an opportunity to our faculty and students to work together with the subject matter experts on ‘live projects’ with ‘real’ data to augment and guide course curriculum. Through this kind of symbiotic relationship with learning-oriented organizations, our faculty and student research drive new knowledge and create best practices.”

 

Senior vice President and business leader, Analytics & Research at Genpact, Paul Burton, said, “We want to address the gap between theory and practice. Genpact has already been running a research and analytics program with IMT Ghaziabad since 2012 and is the first ever MBA analytics program developed jointly by the industry and Indian academia. The analytics lab consists of infrastructure for machine learning and open source toolsets & technologies to enable hands-on training in the rapidly growing field of analytics. The analytics lab has been launched to focus on the further extension of MBA analytics program.

 

Analytics is an umbrella term referring to the processes, technologies and techniques, which turn data into information and knowledge that drive business decisions. This analytics lab has been launched by Genpact to facilitate collaboration and innovation between professors, students and industry expert to support primarily Indian and other emerging markets.

 

The efforts of the Genpact and IMT Ghaziabad to develop a high impact pool of professionals comprised of data scientists and risk professionals will be augmented with the launch of this lab. The primary emphasis of the analytics lab is on making professionals more conversant in modern analytics tools and technologies, and proficient in conducting key activities such as build-phase design for new products and implementation and commercialization to support product development.
