Only a few day-hours and a night is left to appear in SNAP 2014 to be held tomorrow on Dec 21, 2014 across the country. This is the time to maintain your cool, remain relaxed, utilize the night to revise whatever you have studied and learned but not begin anything new.

MBAUniverse.com brings forth the last minute tips shared by Prof. S K Agarwal, author and expert in Verbal Ability and mentor on SNAP preparation for the benefit of SNAP 2014 aspirants how they could score high in the exam which is a gateway to MBA programmes 2015-17 in 13 B schools affiliated to Symbiosis International University including Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM - Pune) one of the top rated B schools in India.

SNAP 2014 will be held on Dec 21, 2014 in a paper pen mode. The exam will be objective Multiple Choice Questions based test of two hours duration from 2PM to 4PM. Candidates are allowed with blue or black ball pen. Candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered by institutes of Symbiosis International University have to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test.

Last minute guidelines
Despite the fluctuation in number of test takers, competition in SNAP remains tough. Most of the candidates seeking admission opportunities in the top B schools like SIBM Pune have to score high in SNAP. Those who study too much on the last few day may not sometimes get a high percentile than the aspirants who work steadily on certain tips and tricks along with the meticulous study pattern. There is no time for concept building or beginning anything afresh as now is the time for action.

Everyone is anxious to find where he or she stands in SNAP and this you must have judged through the analysis of various Mocks that you have already attempted. If one is low on scores, the thought how to improve spontaneously comes to mind as every SNAP taker wants to be a winner.

Take a few hours to revisit today: Nothing new please!
It is recommended that you should revisit the topics that you have strongly prepared. But remember don’t fall into the trap of beginning anything new as it may bring more confusion than clarity. Refresh whatever you have learnt and find out whether it synchronizes with the SNAP 2014 test pattern.

While revisiting the preparation level check if you are comfortable in different parts like- Questions on Error correction, Questions on paragraphs of various types, Questions on Reading Comprehension, Questions on Analytical and Logical Ability like Team Formation, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangements, Binary Logic and so on. If you have prepared well on Vocabulary also, you should know its correct usage in context. Questions on jumbled paragraphs may also be given some time to practice.

No more Head cramming
No time is left to study, understand and practice the unknown or confusing topics however important they may be. So do not cram your head in solving the questions unfamiliar or difficult to you.
It is better to leave the weak areas and refresh your strong areas. If you are able to crack good number in every section say 25 out of 40 in the 3 sections and 20 out of 30 in Analytical ability section, you may get a high score and can expect a call from the top rated B-school out of 13.

Organize the documents
Before going to sleep you should organize the following documents & stationery items you will need to carry to the exam centre.

i)Admit Card.
ii)Your latest coloured passport size photograph should be pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for.
iii) Photo identity as specified

iv) Blue/Black ballpoint pen.
Important – Please note that items like cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/memory or any electronic gadgets shall not be allowed in the examination hall. It is better to avoid the same.

Remember to report well in time
Candidates should remember that their test will start at 2.00 P.M. and they are supposed to report at 1.00 P.M.(13 hrs) at the examination centre. Check the admit card and ensure that you know the venue address else find it out today to avoid any last minute panic.

More attempts in the exam: Key to improve score
SNAP 2014 will have 150 questions to be solved in 120 minutes. The time is short and less than 1 minute per question is available to solve it. No one may be going to solve all of them nor they may do it accurately in the given time frame. You need to focus on maximising your attempts with accuracy.

If you are determined to get your desired B-school, attempt the questions with a clear methodology. The first attempt is supposed to crack those questions which are from your strongest domain of understanding. First choose the preferred section and then the preferred question type.

The strategy should be that in three attempts you have already attempted the easy and selected questions. By now you have got a fair idea of understanding of unattempted questions, catch those questions which appear comparatively friendly to you and attempt them with a high accuracy level.

Get a good night sleep
Keep your mind relaxed. Nothing is going to change. Have confidence that you can do the best with your capabilities. Go to sleep a bit early; don’t burn midnight oil on the night before the exam. Rest assured you will have better result with these guidelines than you would have got by reading and studying too much a day before the test.
