According to Dr Rohit Kapoor, CAT 2014 convener and faculty IIM Indore ‘CAT 2014 result will be declared only after ensuring the complete transparency, equity and fairness in the process’. While the date for CAT 2014 result is expected to be announced today on Dec 22, 2014, the final result will be declared after the process of final checks on score normalization is over.
Despite finalization of result, the CAT 2014 result is going through the multiple final checks as already shared by CAT Centre 2014 on score equating and normalization process. In fact CAT Centre 2014 doesn’t want to take any chances on declaration of CAT 2014 result that could raise any question on the transparency and fairness on score normalization process. CAT Centre 2014 has already promised “In order to ensure fairness and equity in comparison of performances of the candidates across different test sessions, the scores of the candidates shall be subjected to a process of Normalization. The Normalization process to be implemented shall adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms and the scaled scores obtained by this process shall be converted into percentiles for purposes of shortlisting”.
Technical glitch over
CAT Centre 2014 has got over the technical glitches and ‘final checks are underway’. Speaking to MBAUniverse.com CAT 2014 convener Dr Rohit Kapoor has shared to lay more emphasis on ensuring to arrive at the glitch free and transparent CAT 2014 result and said “We will announce the exact date of declaration of CAT 2014 result on Dec 22 once we are through the process ensuring transparency and fairness”.

In next 2 days the anxiety of CAT 2014 takers on CAT 2014 result declaration date would come to an end as the exact date of CAT 2014 result is going to be announced today on Dec 22, 2014 anytime on CAT 2014 site.
No error result
In its result processing and score normalization, CAT Centre 2014 has been trying to arrive at the perfection in score normalization process. It was left with no option but to delay the result a bit to avoid any future embarrassment. The score normalization process which appears to be on the lines of GATE score normalization pattern is slightly different than what was adopted by CAT in earlier exams.
Expect more number of high percentilers
CAT Centre 2014 will declare the CAT 2014 Result after ensuring zero error in the entire process as the fate of 1.70 lakh aspirants is associated to CAT 2014 results. In CAT 2014 sections were found more balanced and more options to attempt the questions were available. A candidate could crack 60 correct out of 100 in CAT 2014 but it was much difficult to crack 35 correct out of 60 in earlier CAT exams despite the fact that more time per question to solve was available in earlier CAT exams. Accordingly due to negative marking system the percentile got dipped low in earlier CAT exams. In CAT 2014 with more questions available most of the candidates who refrained from attempting doubtful and difficult type of questions can expect a high percentile.

Declaration of CAT 2014 result will also have positive impact on the process of MBA/PGDM admission 2015 in IIMs and other top rated B schools like FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, IMT, FORE, BIMTECH, JBIMS, TAPMI, NITIE and many more.
It will not only help the B schools to shortlist the candidates for admission round in the month of January 2015 but will also enable them to start the PI process in January 2015 itself, offer final admissions in the month of February-March 2015 and begin the session immediately after that.
