Thousands of CAT 2014 test takers have been approaching MBAUniverse.com after declaration of CAT 2014 result on Dec 27, 2014 in regard to their not very good and uneven sectional performance in the exam. The candidates are in a jeopardy whether they will be shortlisted for admission by highly ranked B schools for admission 2015 with their unexpectedly low scored percentile in CAT 2014. Most of these candidates have registered for XAT 2015 also and it appears that their well planned preparation strategy to take XAT 2015 got a set back after declaration of CAT 2014 result.

Shed the apprehension

A few of the CAT 2014 takers who have scored between 85 to 95 percentile are worried on the ground that despite their good overall percentile they have fluctuating or uneven sectional percentile which may become a hurdle in getting them shortlisted despite good academic profile. XAT 2015 equally important

In fact, most of the top rated B schools, except IIMs and a few others, will also use XAT 2015 scores along with CAT 2014 scores to short list candidates for admission in PGDM batch 2015-17. XLRI, XIMB, IMT, SPJIMR, LIBA, XISS are a few of the 120 B schools going to accept XAT 2015 scores for admission 2015. The list of member and associated B schools to XAT 2015 has more than 120 management institutes and you will not be able to avail this opportunity after January 4, 2015 the date of XAT 2015, provided you have already registered and paid for XAT 2015 exam.
 
5 days to XAT 2015

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2015 to be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 4, 2015 in a single session is the gateway for top rated MBA/PGDM programme 2015-17 in highly ranked B schools in the country. The registration and application process for XAT 2015 closed on November 30, 2014. The scores of XAT 2015 will be accepted by almost all the top rated B schools like XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, LIBA, XISS for admission session beginning 2015.

While the admission opportunity in top rated B schools is available by appearing in Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2015, you also need to apply separately to the respective B school where you wish to take admission for the MBA/PGDM batch 2015-17.

Submit XAT 2015 scores also: Better one to be considered

Number of B schools accept both CAT and XAT scores. You can therefore submit both the test scores  to the respective B school. Check well if the B school accepts both the exam scores. The better of the two scores will be considered by the B school and as such you also stand a fair chance to improve your scores in XAT 2015 to explore better admission opportunities.

More B schools than in earlier years are associated to XAT 2015 and more admission opportunities will be available on the basis of XAT 2015.

XAT 2015: Prepare well

There are 120 B schools including the above ones who will accept XAT 2015 scores. An approximate number of 15 thousand MBA/PGDM seats will be available for the candidates who score a good percentile in XAT 2015 to be held on January 4, 2015.

XAT 2015 will be a paper pencil mode exam based on Multiple Choice Question pattern. The exam will be held in a single session across the country in 47 cities. XAT 2015 will be of 3 hours duration beginning from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM with no break in between.

XAT 2015 will be divided between Objective MCQs and subjective Essay Writing tests. The Multiple choice questions (MCQs) part will be over in 150 minutes and next 30 minutes will be allotted for essay writing part. 

XAT 2015 test takers will have to complete the first 3 sections of the first part of the MCQ exam namely Verbal and Logical Ability; Decision Making; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation in 140 minutes while 30 questions in General Knowledge section will have to be attempted in 10 minutes only. 30 minutes will be separately allotted for essay writing test. A candidate can toggle between the sections with no sectional time constraint.

Application process open in few Top B schools

Although Admission application process in XLRI was closed on Dec 26, 2014 there are still a number of B schools like IMT, IMT, TAPMI (Going to close on Dec 31, 2014) and many more accepting XAT 2015 scores where admission application process is open.  You are supposed to apply to the respective B school for admission 2015. Most of the top rated B schools going to accept XAT scores are going to close their admission application process shortly, it is therefore advisable to act swiftly and apply to the dream B school immediately.
 
Following are a few of the top rated B schools who are going to accept XAT 2015 scores
 
XLRI, Jamshedpur: Application process closed on Dec 26

Please remember that only after registering for XAT 2015,  you could register for XLRI programmes. The best part of admission application to XLRI programmes for 2015-17 batch was that the fee was only Rs.1500/- whether you apply for one PGDM programme or more than one PGDM programmes.

The last date of online registration for the XLRI Programmes was December 26, 2014 which stands closed now.
       
SPJIMR, Mumbai: Application process closed on Dec 1

SPJIMR will shortlist the candidates for admission 2015 on the basis of CAT 2014, GMAT and XAT 2015 exam scores. The candidates who have not been able to fare so well in CAT 2014 have the opportunity to appear in XAT 2015 and submit both the scores. The B school will consider the better of 2 scores to shortlist the candidates. Aspirants who explore admission opportunity in SPJIMR need to score high sectional as well as overall percentile in these exams.

The flagship PGDM programme 2015-17 at SPJIMR will have an intake of 240 for Indian Nationals. An additional 36 seats will be available for PIO/OCI and Foreign Nationals. Hence the total intake for session 2015-16 will be 276 seats

XIMB-XUB, Bhubaneshwar: Application process closed Dec 20

Application process for admission to batch 2015-17 at XIMB for MBA-BM; MBA-HRM; MBA-SM; MBA-RM; MBA-Global and Executive PGDM programmes closed on Dec 20, 2014.

XIMB admission application fee for admission 2015 was Rs 1300/-. In case you wish to apply for more programmes you had to pay the additional fee. XIMB will accept XAT 2015 scores apart from CAT 2014 and its X-GMAT 2015 scores.
 
IMT Ghaziabad: Last date extended upto 2nd week of Jan 2015

IMT Ghaziabad admission application process for PGDM admission has been reopened in the wake of late declaration of CAT 2014 result. Now candidates still have time to apply to IMT Ghaziabad till 2nd  week of Jan 2015. There is one common Application Form for all four campuses - Ghaziabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Dubai (July 2015 intake). 

While IMT Ghaziabad will be accepting CAT/XAT/GMAT scores IMT Nagpur and Hyderabad will be accepting CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT scores. The applicant is required to fill the IDs of the entire test score he/she wishes to submit.

After completing the form, the applicant should make payment of Rs 1750/- online or through Demand Draft.

Applicants may submit any one or more than of the test scores i.e. CAT 2014, XAT 2015, GMAT (Test taken between 1st January 2011 – 31st December 2014). IMT will consider the best score before making the final admission offer.


TAPMI, Manipal: Last date Dec 31

Apart from XAT 2015 scores TAPMI will accept scores of CAT 2014, GMAT (between 1st Jan 2013 and 31st Dec, 2014.) The Admission-2015 process to the 3 flagship 2-year fully residential Post Graduate Programs batch 2015-17 viz., PGDM, PGDM-Health Care Management (HCM) and PGDM-Banking and Financial Services (BKFS) at T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal started from October 18, 2014 will close on December 31, 2014.
 
Aspirants desirous of seeking admission at TAPMI will be able to obtain admission prospectus on or off-line, but submission will be completely online only. Last date to submit the application is December 31, 2014.
 
The Application fee is Rs. 1,500 for single program, Rs. 2500/- for any 2 programs and Rs. 3500/- for all three programs. Payments can be made by means of Demand Draft on any bank or pay online with debit/credit card

All the above full time PGDM programmes offered at TAPMI for PGDM batch 2015-17are AICTE approved with a total intake of 540 students.

LIBA, Chennai: Last date January 26, 2015

LIBA will accept XAT 2015 scores apart from CAT 2014 scores. Application process is online. The application fee is Rs 1250/- to be paid by means of DD or online or can be paid at any of the specified IMS centres.

Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) Chennai admission application process will close on January 26, 2015 for PGDM batch 2015-17. LIBA offers specializations in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Systems International Business and General Management. Offering dual specialization in PGDM is one of the USPs at LIBA. Total intake at  LIBA in its flagship 2 years full time PGDM batch 2015-17 is 120 students.
 
Great Lakes, Chennai: Last date Jan 31, 2015
Great Lakes institute of Management, Chennai has started its online and offline admission process for session 2015-16 for 2 year full time PGDM and 1 year PGPM Programmes in 2 cycles.

Issue of Application forms for admission to 2 years full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) 2015-17 at Great Lakes Institute of Management has started and will be covered in two cycles 

Closing date for First cycle: January 31, 2015
Closing date for second cycle: March 15, 2015
 
Acceptable exam scores at Great Lakes institute of Management are XAT 2015 and other exams like GMAT/CAT/MAT/CMAT.  For PGDM 2015-17, Great Lakes Institute of Management will accept CAT Scores of the year 2013 and 2014, XAT scores of the year 2014 and 2015, MAT scores of the year 2014 and 2015, CMAT scores of 2014 or GMAT scores taken after Jan 1, 2013.

The Application fee is Rs. 1500/-. Alternatively candidates can also Purchase the application form from Great Lakes Offices in Chennai and New Delhi or from select vendor centres. However, the eventual application process is online for all candidates.
