IIM Ahmedabad Admission Process: shortlists 1249 candidates; 99.67 forms the minimum CAT 2014 percentile cut off

Based on the announced short-listing and selection criteria for PGP 2015-17 batch, a total 1249 candidates meeting the minimum cut-offs have been called for AWT & PI by IIM Ahmedabad
IIM Ahmedabad has considered top 50 or 1% candidates from each category of academic discipline and shortlisted 221 candidates for AWT & PI 2015

Keeping its top position unabated even in early declaration of shortlist of candidates for final admission round 2015, IIM Ahmedabad declared the shortlist of candidates on January 2, 2015 for next phase of admission round comprising AWT & PI.  A total of 1249 candidates have been shortlisted for the final PI round.

 

Based on the announced short-listing and selection criteria for PGP 2015-17 batch, a total 1249 candidates meeting the  minimum cut-offs have been called for Academic Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI) by IIM Ahmedabad after due consideration.

 

Number of candidates considered at preliminary stage

 

Following number of candidates were found eligible to be considered at primary stage in accordance with the admission policy 2015 declared by IIM Ahmedabad. Since this is the preliminary screening all these eligible candidates were supposed to be considered on Minimum CAT 2014 scores and Application Rating scores subsequently.

Moving ahead with the process of screening for Academic Writing Test (AWT) and personal Interview (PI) IIMA has considered top 50 or 1% candidates from each category of academic discipline and shortlisted 221 candidates for AWT & PI 2015.

The number in few academic disciplines is more because of the tie in CAT percentile.

 

Merit list drawn

 

IIMA has adopted the following criteria after arriving at the CAT 2014 cut off percentile and has drawn the merit list accordingly. The candidates out of the considered ones and after taking out the 1% candidates from each category of academic discipline category have finally been shortlisted as per following cut off

 

General Category

 

Minimum CAT percentile for General category candidates: 99.67

 

NC-OBC Category

 

Minimum CAT percentile for NC-OBC category candidates: 96.42

 

SC Category

 

Minimum CAT percentile for SC category candidates: 90.68

 

ST Category
Minimum CAT percentile for ST category candidates: 81.10

 

DA Category

 

Minimum CAT percentile for DA category candidates: 86.76

On the above calculation IIM Ahmedabad has arrived at the shortlist of 1249 candidates as total number called for AWT-PI.

 

The weight age to Academic Written Test (AWT) and personal Interview (PI) is even more than the CAT 2014 scores in final admission round. A candidate has to appear in both of them and by no chance can skip either of the two
