Despite hurdles: XAT 2015 result before time
Otherwise efficiently conducted XAT 2015 paper pencil based test on January 4, 2015 found some errants at a few test centres. Despite those hurdles XLRI the XAT 2015 conducting institute is going to declare the result well ahead of time.
At some XAT 2015 exam centres invigilators distributed mismatched booklet series of main question papers and GK question paper on the testing day on January 4, 2015. To rectify this problem XAT 2015 exam conducting centre had to come out with a notification reading as under ‘Attention: Candidates, who appeared for XAT-2015 on 4th January 2015- Invigilators were asked to distribute same booklet series for the main question paper and GK question paper. However, it was noticed that it was not followed at some centers. If you received different series (A,B,C,D) for the main question paper and General Knowledge, please send a mail to [email protected], before 10th January, 2015. Mention your CRN, XAT ID, and GK Book Series(A,B,C,D) in the mail. Candidates receiving same series in both the question booklets need not write the mail.”

As against CAT 2014 result which was declared a week late than the earlier announced date, result of XAT 2015 is going to be declared a week before the pre announced date of January 31.

XAT 2015: more questions less time
XAT 2015 as shared earlier by MBAUniverse.com had 113 questions in all as against 103 questions of Multiple choice type in XAT 2014. The time to solve the test remained the same with 3 hours which included essay writing test also. Hence despite more number of questions the time to solve per question was reduced substantially.
In contrast to earlier XAT exams, XAT 2015 had more questions in General Knowledge section. Instead of 20 questions, XAT 2015 had 30 questions in GK section to be solved within the same time limit.
XAT 2015 had uniform marking system
XAT is famous for the variable marking system. One section used to carry more weightage in terms of marks while the other section carried lesser weightage with more questions but less marks awarded per correct answer. However XAT 2015 had equal marks allotted to all the questions. All the MCQs in XAT 2015 across all the sections carried one mark each irrespective of the section they belonged to.
