Candidates who could not get good score in CAT 2014 have all the opportunity to upgrade their scores by appearing in Maharashtra CET

With the notification out for online Common Entrance Test (CET) for management courses across Maharashtra to be held on March 14 and 15, 2015 at the various test centres across the country, thousands of candidates have become curious about MAH-CET which proposes to cater to the high intake of 45000 seats in MBA/MMS programme 2015-17 across Maharashtra.

MAH CET, conducted by DTE Maharashtra is an online MCQ based exam which will be conducted in multiple sessions across the country on March 14 and 15, 2015. The registration process for the exam is yet to open.

MAHCET 2015: Gateway to top rated B schools

Number of good B schools offer admission to the candidates based on MAH-CET scores. Prominent among them are JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE, KJ Somaiya, N L Dalmiya, SIES, IESMCRC, MET, DSIMS, DY Patil, PUMBA, Singhad. Around 45000 seats in various management courses across Maharashtra are filled up on the basis of MAH-CET 2015 scores. Candidates can explore better admission opportunity on the basis of MAHCET scores. Around 60 thousand candidates are expected to apply and appear in MAH-CET 2015.

Avail the opportunity

Thousands of candidates who could not get good score in CAT 2014 have all the opportunity to upgrade their scores by appearing in Maharashtra CET. State of Maharashtra has number of top rated B schools like JBIMS, KJ Somaiya, SIMSREE, Dy Patil, PUMBA Pune, IMDR the list is long enough consisting 400+ B schools

A few B schools that used to accept CMAT/MAT scores in Maharashtra may no longer accept these scores and would prefer only MAH-CET scores. Hence it is of utmost importance that a candidate should appear in Maharashtra CET even if he has appeared in other exams.

High ROI programs

The fee for MBA/MMS/PGDM programme in Maharashtra in a management institute taking part in DTE conducted CET is decided by ‘Shikshan Shulka Samiti’ in Maharashtra and it can be as low as Rs.1 lac to Rs. 3 lacs across Maharashtra. This fee structure is lower than the cost of pursuing MBA from private B schools in other parts of the country where the fee may be as high as Rs.8 to 14 lacs.

Placement in B schools in Maharashtra is also good and students of many institutes secure placement packages as high as the students in other top rated B schools. When you calculate the Return on investment it is much better than most of the B schools in the same category

8000+ seats for Outside MAH candidates

The exam will be a great advantage to Maharashtra as well as outside Maharashtra candidates since more than 8000 seats in the management institutes in Maharashtra are open for admission to Non Maharashtra candidates.

Registration Compulsory

Registration process to MAHCET 2015 is about to open. However please note that admission in B schools in Maharashtra can be sought on the basis of CAT 2014 scores or on the basis of scores of other All India exams like XAT 2015/CMAT 2015/MAT provided the B school accepts those scores. For example JBIMS Mumbai has stopped accepting other scores except CAT 2014 and MAHCET 2015. But in any case registration to MAHCET 2015 is compulsory.

In fact, to explore admission opportunities in management courses in highly ranked B schools in Maharashtra, DTE Maharashtra makes it mandatory for the candidates to register for its Centralized Admission Process (CAP) even if a candidate has already appeared in any of the above All India management entrance tests, score of which are acceptable to DTE Maharashtra.

The best part of getting registered to this process is that you become entitled for the written examination of MAH CET and now it is up to you whether to take the test or skip it, although skipping it will not be a wise decision.

MAH CET: An added advantage- Don’t skip

If you had scored high in All India Tests like CAT/XAT/CMAT, you would have decided in favour of your dream B school. But since you scored less than 95 percentile that too with uneven low sectional percentile, you may not expect admission in a highly ranked college. MAH CET 2015 will be the last opportunity to revise your scores upwards to secure admission in top rated B schools in Maharashtra. The interesting part about MAH CET is that your best score will be taken into consideration.

Options are more

Know well that MAH CET is easier than any other MBA entrance examination. More options will be available to you as seats through CET are more than any other exam. Besides the preparation for CET isn’t too demanding after having appeared in other entrance exams.  All you need is good speed and an active mind to ensure accuracy.

MAH CET 2015: Exam components

Directorate of Technical Education has clarified that the Common Entrance Test for admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM courses 2015-16 in the AICTE approved B schools will be an online test and will be conducted on Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15, 2015.

The expected number of questions in MAHCET 2015 will be 200 of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type. The entire question paper is supposed to be solved in two and half hours. MAH CET does not penalize with negative marking so the guesses can also be applied at some places. However too many guesses may create bad impression and might affect adversely in Centralised Admission Process of DTE Maharashtra in allocation of the institutes.

The test will be divided in three major sections i.e. Verbal Ability and RC; Quantitative Aptitude; Reasoning. There are still 2 months to prepare well and utilize the opportunity to score high in order to get admission in a highly ranked B school. No point is there to miss the opportunity.

Number of candidates got admission to JBIMS, SIMSREE, KJSomaiya and other excellent B schools having a ranking among top 10 or top 20 on the basis of MAHCET-2014 scores and 2012 scores. There was no MAHCET in 2013 due to some legal issues. Aspirants scoring 165+ after taking into account the GDPIWAT in CAP can be allotted seats in JBIMS. Since there is no negative marking you have more chances to score high.
