BIMTECH organizes `UDYAMI` an entrepreneurial carnival; promotes entrepreneurship among students

`Udyami` provides the platform to BIMTECH students who have an inquisitive surge to evolve themselves as future entrepreneurs

The EntrePioneer, entrepreneur cell of Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida organized Udyami-3, the 3rd annual entrepreneurial carnival of 6 days from February 7 to 12, 2015. Udyami is organized at BIMTECH to promote entrepreneurship among the students pursuing PGDM and other management programmes. ‘Udyami’ provides the platform to BIMTECH students who have an inquisitive surge to evolve themselves as future entrepreneurs. The event was marked with the festivity of fun, joy, togetherness and saw students from various colleges in this fun-filled festival.

 

The mega-event had 8 stalls owned by BIMTECH students competing one another for the coveted trophy and the title “Star Entrepreneur 2015”. Focusing on maximum ROI as the expert entrepreneur would have done, BIMTECH students organized the stalls mostly comprising food items varying from a vast array of choices like Mexican Wraps, Spring Rolls, south Indian delicacies and various delicious desserts and sundaes.

 

“Ranganathan” the NGO club of BIMTECH put up a stall which sold beautiful paintings and handy-crafts. The owners of the stall indulged in a lot of innovative promotional strategies to attract more footfalls to their stalls to increase the sales. This carnival also saw “Noesis” the gaming club of BIMTECH organizing a gaming event “Velocitas”, where participants had to battle it out in NFS-Most Wanted and FIFA to be the best. “Majlis” the debate and theatre club of BIMTECH also organised their main event “Majlis the Theatre Festival”, which saw active participation from various colleges across Delhi, NCR in street plays and stage plays.

 

Various other activities at the event included DJ Night, Dancing, Singing and Guitar performances and various on-the-spot stage performances. This carnival gave all the students an opportunity to showcase their talent and to promote the idea that business is an innovative amalgamation of fun as well as the game of mind. The stall owners enhanced their domain knowledge and by running their stalls for 6-days and learnt the practicality of marketing, managing financial budget and brushed up their entrepreneurship skills.

 

Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) was established in 1988 under the aegis of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture, and supported by Birla group of companies. BIMTECH Greater Noida is a highly ranked B school. BIMTECH does not award any reservation for any category  in its admission to PGDM programme. Placement at the B school is also good as it had highest salary in placement 2014 for Rs. 19 Lakhs and average salary for Rs. 6.75 lakhs. For its flagship PGDM programme the B school accepts CAT scores.
