Time to Summarise your preparation
Learn now a few tips from Prof. S K Agarwal, expert and mentor on CMAT preparation on how to summarise your preparation for the exam and come out of the examination hall with flying colours.

Revise quickly
Avoid reading anything new at the eleventh hour of CMAT 2015 exam. But a quick revision of seemingly such formulas, words, bits of something which are evading your memory may prove good. It is as beneficial as a quick nap of 10-15 minutes which energises your body and mind.

Attempt & analyse Mocks
Devote more time in taking mocks. Practice more such questions as you think will give you more confidence and further strengthen your strong areas. Avoid over stressing but half hearted study will also not help. So devote your time with concerted efforts.

Analyse where you went wrong in the mock test despite knowing the answer option. Try to improve by taking yet another mock of similar pattern.

Practice Variety of question
If possible practice a few questions which you think will give you more confidence and further strengthen your strong areas. Although straining your mind is not required, you are supposed to improve on the weak areas in your strong areas that made you pick a wrong answer option.

Be clear: Shed confusion
Whatever you have learnt and practiced must be crystal clear to you. If you remain confused on any particular topic either get it clarified till you get the confidence that there is no confusion on it and practice more questions on the topic, or if you find that confusion still persists, leave the topic as you might end up wasting your precious time on it. It will be better to utilize the time on some other questions.

If you mark one wrong answer, you will lose the credit for the question and will be imposed a penalty also, pushing you back in score. It is advisable not to waste time, In case you find the same beyond your reach.

Maximise attempts in Mocks too
Mocks are meant to give you real exam feeling, leading to precise assessment. If you maximise your attempts in mocks also, you will know what strategy you should adopt in the exam hall.

You will improve your accuracy level with more attempts. Next 3 days are good enough to practice more and improve your CMAT score.

All sections important
You are supposed to attempt questions from all sections, so try to balance among all the 4 sections. With your expertise in Quant and in the anxiety to maximise your score in quantitative aptitude, you shouldn’t forget General Awareness, Logical Reasoning or Language Comprehension.

Please remember the freedom of movement among the 4 sections without a planned strategy is no good and candidates end up missing many easy questions in different sections. By the time they realise it, the examination is over. This may result in a very high score in a particular section but very poor score in other sections due to which the admission to a good B school may not be possible.

Learn how to Manage time through Mocks
All the questions carry equal weightage in CMAT and are to be solved within the given overall time frame. For example you are supposed to solve 25 questions in 45 minutes. Focus on such questions which you can solve quickly and the saved time can be utilised to solve other questions in that section.

Roughly you have 90 seconds per question. You have to judiciously divide the time to maximise your score. Left over questions can be solved in the saved time from other questions.

Important tip
25 questions in General Awareness section carry equal weightage as the questions in other sections carry. The suggestion is to revise only the earlier learnt GK till the exam day instead of mugging up new current affairs at this point, since the examination paper must have been prepared by now.
