TAPMI Manipal Admission 2015: Drops GD in final admission round; PI begins Feb 20

The final stage of Admission-2015 process at TAPMI Manipal is to commence on Feb 20 and will continue till March 22, 2015 at 10 identified centres across India. There will not be Group Discussion (GD) round in final admission process at TAPMI, instead Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) will remain the main components to the final stage of admission.

 

Announcing the components of final admission process 2015 for the 3 flagship 2-year fully residential Post Graduate Programs batch 2015-17 viz., PGDM, PGDM-Health Care Management (HCM) and PGDM-Banking and Financial Services (BKFS), the T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal has clarified “It will consist of WAT (Written Ability Test) and Personal Interview. No GD”

 

PI-WAT begins Feb 20

 

TAPMI proposes to begin the final admission round on Feb 20, 2015 at Mumbai. The tentative PI-WAT schedule for different centres is as under

However, shortlisted candidates are supposed to check their due dates for PI round on TAPMI site as TAPMI could change the PI dates and venues in accordance with the number of candidates for the PI round.

 

Shortlisting Criteria

 

Besides high scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT TAPMI has adopted the profile-based short-listing for PI & WAT, which means that due weightage would be assigned to components like Academic record/ Professional qualifications/Work-experience. Cut off for CAT 2014 and XAT 2015 scores at TAPMI in shortlisting the candidates has stood around 80 percentile.

 

Candidates who appeared in CAT/XAT/GMAT were required to apply for admission at TAPMI online latest by Januray 27, 2015.

Following PGDM programmes will be offered at TAPMI for PGDM batch 2015-17. All the programmes are AICTE approved. However, the filling up of these seats will be subject to availability of suitable candidates who will undergo the rigorous selection process.

Fee structure

 

PGDM and PGDM (BKFS) Programmes

 

The current academic fee for two years payable by students admitted for the PGDM Programmes is Rs. 13.5 lakhs  including Hostel fees and excluding monthly food bill approx. Rs.3500/- .

 

PGDM - Healthcare Management

 

The current academic fee for two years payable by students admitted for the PGDM - Healthcare Programme is Rs. 9.5 lakhs including Hostel fees and excluding monthly food bill approx. Rs.3500/- .

 

Placement at TAPMI

 

The placement 2014 at TAPMI saw the highest salary of Rs.55 Lakhs, more than 8 students were offered placement at Rs.45 lakhs and average salary stood at Rs. 9.71 Lakhs. While top rated recruiting companies visited TAPMI offering more offers in Placement 2014, sectoral placement was also good at the B school.

 

In Placement 2015 TAPMI has placed all 391 students achieving 100% placements. All the students from the two full time AICTE approved post graduate programs, PGDM and PGDM-Healthcare, secured plum jobs in corporate India and abroad. This year’s placement process saw 107 companies visiting TAPMI to choose the best managerial talent. The average package for the batch went up to Rs. 8.70 lakhs from last year’s Rs.8.41 lakhs. The highest domestic offer was made by Microsoft at Rs. 14.55 lakhs. This year’s placement also included two international offers with a package of Rs.15 lakhs.

TAPMI has earned highest global accreditation by AACSB International and is the first AICTE approved B-School in India to achieve this distinguished hallmark of excellence.

 

TAPMI has adopted “Outcome-based learning” in which each course has objectives and learning outcomes. The B school has also introduced a lot of simulation games along with Case method of teaching.

A world-class Finance Lab, in association with Bloomberg India, was launched at TAPMI. The trading lab is equipped with 16 Bloomberg terminals and supported by data feed from BSE and NSE. It gives students hands-on experience
