Only 2 days are left to register and apply for MAHCET 2015 but there is no clarification which state an applicant from Telangana should select while registering for MAHCET 2015
There is no point to go on waiting for the response from DTE Maharashtra, better will be to exercise other available options attached to the drop down menu

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra took its time in opening the registration and application process for MAHCET 2015 less than a month before the exam and still forgot to include Telangana the 29th state of the country. Telangana is one of the recently created state of Republic of India. The state was carved out of Andhra Pradesh and came into being from June 2, 2014. Instead of updating its list of states, DTE Maharashtra has simply repeated it. Now the candidates are confused which state they should select while filling up the application process.

Online exam of MAHCET 2015 for admission to MBA/MMS 2015-17 is scheduled for March 14 & 15, 2015 across the country and DTE Maharashtra chose to open the registration process on Feb 18, 2015, barely 25 days prior to the test. The registration process for MAHCET 2015 is proposed to be closed at 5 PM on Feb 27, 2015.

Candidates confused: 2 days left for registration

Only 2 days are left to register and apply for MAHCET 2015 but there is no clarification which state an applicant from Telangana should select while registering for MAHCET 2015. MBAUniverse.com brought this fact in the notice of DTE Maharashtra through public domain by publishing the news on February 23, 2015

http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/8394/MAH-CET-2015 but no clarification on the matter has been shared in the guidelines issued by DTE Maharashtra to fill up the MAHCET 2015 application form.

Avoid wrong details: Exercise other options

If you happen to enter some wrong details in the online application form and pay the application fee also, you may not be able to correct the details instantly nor will your fee be refunded by DTE Maharashtra.

There is no point to go on waiting for the response from DTE Maharashtra better will be to exercise other available options attached to the drop down menu containing alphabetical list of the states. Going by the past trend, it will be difficult to pursue the DTE to respond quickly and address the grievances of the applicants.

Option-1: Since Telangana has been carved out of Andhra Pradesh candidates could exercise this option by choosing Andhra Pradesh as their state which exists in the list at the drop down menu.

Option-2: There is one more option ‘Not applicable’ in the list of states. You can exercise that one also. But please remember that option is meant for NRI/Foreign nationals. It would be better to exercise option 1 instead.

The application form of no other exam CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT makes such mistake making a candidate select some other state than to the one he/she belongs to. Telangana was not created a month or two back, the state was created 9 months ago. Plenty of time with DTE Maharashtra was available to update the list of states. DTE Maharashtra it appears has repeated its list of states of MAHCET 2014 for MAHCET 2015 without going for a revision.

Guidelines: Without FAQs

DTE Maharashtra has issued the guidelines to register and apply for MAHCET 2015. There is no section on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) which could have replied to the queries of the candidates. The email and helpline also are not able to respond quickly to address the queries of the applicants. The sample filled up form for MAHCET 2015 published on DTE site on Feb 20, 2015 is also silent on the issue of omitting Telangana as a state.

An applicant is supposed to follow all the guidelines issued by DTE to avoid any mistake in completing the registration and application process for MAHCET 2015 but the incomplete guidelines are creating confusion. The candidature for MBA/MMS admission 2015 through MAHCET 2015 is now at stake.

Only Personal Details: still the omission

Applicants to MAHCET 2015 are required to enter the personal details in accordance with the respective documents issued by various authorities so that there is no mismatch in correctness of data as the same may create problem while appearing for MAHCET 2015 exam or in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) round.

DTE has not asked the applicants to fill up their academic details, work experience etc. With a huge staff strength working with DTE Maharashtra, the omission to skip Telengana as a state in the list of states was not expected. It is expected from the DTE Maharashtra to address this issue and clarify in public domain which option the applicants from Telangana should exercise.

Please also remember that the details for communication address should be filled properly. Please check after completing the address details and especially check whether the correct Pin code has been inserted in the relevant column.
