Accenture Strategy emerged as the top recruiter at IIMA in placement 2015 across all clusters having selected 21 students from the batch of 375 students at the campus. In fact the batch strength is even higher but many students at IIM Ahmedabad do not participate in placement process and prefer entrepreneurship and other opportunities to choose from.

2 stage 3 cluster placements 2015

Sharing the key highlights in the placement 2015 IIM Ahmedabad has clarified that the placement process for the graduating batch of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management  was successfully completed within 3 clusters. The third and final cluster was held on March 1, 2015.

The placement process was conducted in two stages. The first was the laterals process where firms interviewed students with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions.

About 50% of the batch was eligible for lateral placements, which provided students an opportunity to optimally leverage their work experience. The laterals process included firms from diverse sectors such as Analytics, Banking & Financial Services, Management Consulting, Consumer Services, Internet & E-commerce, Pharmaceuticals and Technology. Firms which participated in the laterals process included Aditya Birla Group, Alvarez & Marsal, Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Microsoft and Star TV India among others.

The second stage was the final placement process where firms were grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters.

Largest batch

The successful completion of the recruitment cycle for the batch of 375 students stands testament to the high quality of students at the institute and the robust nature of the placement process that provides adequate flexibility to both students and recruiters.

In line with its culture of fostering entrepreneurship, IIM Ahmedabad offered a placement holiday to these students, wherein they will be allowed to participate in placements in one of the next two years in the event that their venture does not work out. Prof. Satish Deodhar, the Chairperson of the Placement Committee, IIM Ahmedabad said, “If consistency is a virtue, this was the semi-centennial year of a yet another successful placement season at IIMA! One-Many correspondence between domain and range does not exist in maths. Perhaps that is the difference between maths and IIM Ahmedabad PGP placements. Each one of the PGP students, having acquired his or her domain knowledge over two years, received a range of top offers from different firms.”

Sumit Patil, the Recruitment Secretary of IIM Ahmedabad said, "Participation of a large number of recruiters stands testimony to the quality of students and robustness of the process. Our efforts to promote entrepreneurship were boosted with several students opting for their own ventures.”
