Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SPJIMR, the leading B school of the country is probably the first B school all set to welcome the future managers. SPJIMR released on Saturday March 7, 2015 the list of candidates selected for admission to its prestigious 2 year full time MBA programme. The Institute is now shortly going to announce the date of orientation to welcome  new set of students who would form the PGDM 2015-2017 batch.

First among top B schools
The announcement of final admission list makes SPJIMR the first among the top five B-Schools to declare the list for PGDM admissions this year.

Realizing that securing admission to a top B-school marks an important milestone for candidates, SPJIMR faculty and staff took the extra effort to call up candidates and inform them personally about their selection to the PGDM programme.

More PGDM 2015-17 applicants

The announcement is the latest in admission process that began in September 2014 when applications for SPJIMR’s PGDM were first invited for a programme that received over 70 applications per seat for Indian nationals.

SPJIMR saw a jump of 10% in the application pool as compared to last year. About 15% of the applicants were interviewed across four locations in January and February 2015 and the average selection ratio among those interviewed is 1:11.

PGDM 2015-17: Diverse class profile

In the selected pool, almost 85% have some work experience, about 18% are non-engineer graduates from varied fields such as business studies, chartered accountants, arts, sciences and commerce, and as many as 35% of those selected are women, making this one of the most diverse batches at SPJIMR’s PGDM. The list of selected candidates is live on the SPJIMR PGDM admissions portal as of Saturday afternoon, along with personalised offer letters and related documents.

Complete all formalities by March 12

The acceptance letter is required to be signed, scanned and uploaded to the portal by the selected candidate. Acceptance and related formalities must be completed by March 12, 2015. The first waitlist is expected to be declared in the first week of April after formalities of the initial list of those selected are complete. The waitlisted candidates will also get three working days to complete the acceptance formalities, including payment of the initial acceptance amount.

Classes to commence on June 8

The PGDM 2015-2017 batch pre-foundation module is scheduled to start on May 11, 2015 and the on-campus classes are scheduled to start on June 08, 2015.

More Scholarships at SPJIMR

Students can apply for merit-cum-means based scholarships under existing SPJIMR scholarship plans. In an earlier interview, PGDM programme head Dr.Atish Chattopadhyay said “We already had a merit-cum-means scholarship so that no student is denied education because of funding issues. This year, we instituted a very interesting merit scholarship - the idea was those who are really meritorious should get the best exposure – so the top 20 students in the batch will be provided funding for doing a full semester exchange in one of our top partnering schools in the US - they get their airline travel, visa and living expenses covered when they go for exchange, this again is something very unique to SPJIMR.”

The admissions process for international applicants and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) is still on and a list of international candidates will be released separately later.

The B school has a consistent record of 100% placement and  being the first B-School to announce closure of placements. The average salary at SPJIMR placement 2015 increased to 18.2 lacs, a substantial increase over the last year. 80% of the batch has received offers of Rs 15 lakhs and above.
