Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), Xavier University Bhubaneshwar (XUB) has achieved 100% placement for its current outgoing MBA batch 2013-15. Continuing with the tradition of high placements, the institute has scaled even greater heights as witnessed during this year's final placement process for XIMB, Xuberance '15.

 

Placement 2015 at XIMB for all the 3 MBA programmes namely MBA, MBA-HRM and MBA-RM has been spectacular. Apart from higher domestic compensation packages, XIMB students have grabbed good international packages also. The highest domestic salary in placement 2015 at XIMB for flagship MBA and for MBA-HRM stood at Rs.20.5 lakhs while it was Rs.12.44 lakhs for MBA-RM. Highest international package offered stood at USD 34733. 
 
While organizing Xuberance year after year, XIMB has always taken pride in matching the aspirations of the future managers with the prestigious organizations of their dreams. Although XIMB began its placement process later than number of top rated B schools, but completed it much earlier than many of them. The placement 2015 reflected an upward swing in recruitment with more recruiters offering higher placement packages while the companies competed among themselves in offer of more jobs.

 

Key Trends in placement 2015

 

XIMB has a consistent record of high placements. The placement season 2015 was no exception to this achievement. Entire placement 2015 process at XIMB was well managed by the Placement Committee at the B school.

 

Batch size: 331 students placed

 

Apart from 229 students in its flagship MBA batch 2013-15, XIMB students pursuing other MBA programmes have also achieved 100% placement. 56 students of MBA-Human Resource Management batch 2013-15 and another 56 pursuing MBA-Rural Management 2013-15 who participated in placement ‘Xuberance 2015’ at XIMB have been offered placement by more recruiters. In all 331 students pursuing MBA 2013-15 at XIMB and seeking campus placement have been placed in placement 2015.  All the 331 students seeking placement got suitable offers and the placement 2015 process at XIMB is over.
 

120 recruiters include 55 new ones

 

The Final Recruitment process saw participation from 58 recruiters inclusive of 23 new recruiters with more offers for flagship MBA 2013-15 batch. There were 36 recruiters with 18 new recruiters making more offers to MBA-HRM students and 26 recruiters including 14 new recruiters made offers to MBA-RM students in placement 2015 at XIMB.

 

There has been a significant rise in number of recruiters during the placement 2015 season at XIMB.  Total number of recruiters including new recruiters has gone up to 120 in placement 2015 with 55 new recruiters with more job offers.

 

Average Salary up

 

Beating the slowdown in placement offers, the placement season 2015 at XIMB saw a rise in median salary to Rs.12.65 lakhs per annum for flagship MBA programme. The average compensation package for MBA-HRM stood at Rs.11.39 lakhs and for MBA-RM it was Rs.6.74 lakhs showing a rising trend in the job market.

 

More number of PPOs

 

Pre placement offers (PPOs) also saw a rise in placement 2015. 15% students of MBA batch 2013-15 were offered PPOs (Pre-Placement Offers) from their summer internships, while 23% students of MBA-HRM were offered PPOs.

 

Top Recruiters

 

Major recruiters like CBC, HCCBPL, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, TCS, Tata Steel, L&T, SBI Capital Markets and Idea strengthened their relationship with XIMB. New bonds were formed with corporates like Goldman Sachs, Spencer’s, Amazon, IBM, Citicorp Services, HSBC, IRIS Business to name a few. The profiles offered varied in their diversity, encompassing Risk Management, Strategic Consulting, Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, IT Consulting and Business Development.

 

Consulting

 

The Consulting area was again the most prominent recruiting sector with 30% of the students getting placed in this field, demonstrating the rich consulting acumen of the students of XIMB. Deloitte, Cognizant Business, PwC, KPMG, TCS, IRIS Business were some of the major recruiters offering roles in Business Consulting.
 

Marketing

 

The Marketing area lived up to its ever rising expectations with recruiters like Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCBPL), Tata Steel, Spencer’s, Boston Scientific, Idea Cellular, Vedanta, Bajaj Auto and many more, making their presence felt by recruiting 27% of the batch.

 

Finance

 

In the Finance stream, lucrative jobs were offered to the students by major financial corporates like Goldman Sachs, HSBC, CRISIL, ICRA, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, HDFC Life, SBI and many more, echoing the strong belief of the industry in the financial intellect of the students of XIMB.

 

IT

 

The Systems sector continued its constant growth and dominance with the major IT behemoths absorbing almost 20% of the batch. Major recruiters like HCL Technologies, Wipro, IBM, Accenture Technology Services, Capgemini, Mindtree, Tata Interactive Systems, Infosys etc., offered diversified roles in the IT sector to the young thought leaders of XIMB.

 

General Management

 

General Management, Strategy and Operations also witnessed a rise in recruitments. Renowned conglomerates like Larsen & Toubro and companies like Amazon, Spencer’s, Tata Steel, TASL, Tata Interactive Services and Future Generali offered lucrative profiles to the young and dynamic managers of XIMB.

 

The prowess of XIMB in providing a global and holistic outlook to its young managers stands proven yet again. 2 of XIMB students bagged coveted international management profiles with the highest international package increasing to USD 34,733 per annum offered by a leading Market Research firm based out of Indonesia.
