In accordance with above provision of de-reservation policy, good chances are there that you could explore admission opportunity in JBIMS Mumbai, if you are shortlisted for Personal Interview round at JBIMS.

JBIMS: Not to participate in CAP 2015

With effect from academic session 2015-16, JBIMS Mumbai has been granted the status of autonomous institute affiliated to Mumbai University. Although the B schools is accepting MAHCET 2015 scores but it will declare the shortlist for Personal Interview (PI) round and will not be a part of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra. JBIMS launched its own admission application process which was closed on January 5, 2015 much earlier than DTE issued notification for MAHCET 2015 exam.

Besides as against the DTE Maharashtra parameters, JBIMS will not accept CMAT/MAT/ATMA etc scores. Only CAT 2014 and MH-CET 2015 will be considered as the qualifying exams for admission 2015 to JBIMS. International applicants can apply using their GMAT scores of not earlier than the exam taken in December 2011.

JBIMS: Shortlist in a few days

JBIMS Mumbai has announced that ‘the shortlist should be out within one month from the announcement of the MH-CET results’. Accordingly since MAHCET 2015 result was declared on March 25, 2015 candidates aspiring for admission to JBIMS Mumbai can expect the shortlist to be declared by April 20, 2015.

Components of GD-PI at JBIMS

After the candidates are shortlisted for next stage of admission round, they will be called for in-person assessment and will be scored on the basis of their performance.

After completion of GD-PI process, the final short list will be declared for both MMS and MSc (Finance) programmes at JBIMS.

The evaluation criteria from the admission year 2015-16 will take into account the complete personality of the candidate, which includes various parameters like score in CAT 2014/MAHCET 2015/GMAT (last 3 years); extra-curricular activities and other significant achievements.

Work experience is also a component of the final admission round but if a fresher has other substantial credentials, he/she can cover up in other parameters. Work-experience alone would not be the deciding criteria.

Submission of MAHCET 2015 exam scores

JBIMS Mumbai allowed 4 days post declaration of MAHCET 2015 result to the aspirants to submit their MAHCET 2015 details latest by March 29, 2015. Candidates who had applied to JBIMS Mumbai were supposed to submit online their Application number and MAHCET 2015 score. Since JBIMS would be verifying the scores with the DTE database, candidates had to mention correct CET application ID.
No candidate who had not opted and not marked MH-CET while submitting the application form is allowed to fill MAHCET 2015 details despite scoring high in the exam. No amendment in the process is possible as of now.

Scores leading to JBIMS Admission

DTE Maharashtra has declared MAHCET 2015 result based on equi-percentile process. The reference base adopted in the process is the second batch on first day March 14, 2015 of the exam. The process has provided highest percentile of 99.99 to the candidate scoring 155 marks in session-2 on March 14, 2015 as against the highest percentile 99.96 with a score of 165 in session-1 on March 14, 2015.

The admission is based on the MAHCET 2015 percentile score and not on raw marks. The candidates who have scored 99.99 percentile will sure be preferred to the candidates scoring 99.66 percentile. The expected cut-off will also vary according to the varying percentiles across the 4 sessions of MAHCET 2015. It therefore may not be possible for the candidates scoring 155 in the first session on March 14, 2015 to get admission in JBIMS while the candidate scoring same score in second session may get the admission opportunity in JBMIS as he is the highest percentiler. Hence shortlist at JBIMS may contain top 100 percentilers from all the 4 sessions scoring varying marks.
