TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal celebrated its 29th Annual Convocation on March 28, 2015 in Manipal, Karnataka. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest for the evening Shri. Balasubramanian Muthuraman, Ex- Chairman Tata International Ltd. and Ex-Vice Chairman Tata Steel Limited.
This year 395 students graduated from the institute of which 388 students are from Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and 7 students from PGDM- HC (Healthcare management). The top three meritorious students were Mr. Kathiresan, Mr. Rana Anshuman and Mr. Varun Khanna. The award for the most meritorious student in healthcare was conferred to Dr. Tanvi Saxena. The late Dr. Ranjan Acharya Award given to the best student in marketing was received by Mr. Varun Khanna. Prof. M.V. Kini award was won by Mr. Harshavardhan. Both ‘TAPMI Achiever of the Year’ and ‘Titan of the Year’ award for the best overall graduating student was won by Mr. Kathiresan.
In his convocation address, Mr. Muthuraman shared his experiences about overcoming the challenges of life. Talking about which, he expressed his views on success, education and life. He talked about the values which cannot be taught in classrooms. Courage, ethics and good judgment cannot be taught through text books. Speaking about good leaders, he explained about the various issues that the society faces and how the graduating students, who will be leaders tomorrow, can help society. He talked about the issues that our society faces and how these management graduates can change things.
Dr. Ramdas Pai, Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr. H.S Ballal, member of TAPMI trust and governing council, and Dr. Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr. R C Natarajan, Director of TAPMI were present on the occasion.
