57224 candidates are looking up for help from Bombay High Court to announce the verdict on application of equi percentile process by DTE
Since DTE could not present well defined corrective measures in detail and as such Bombay High Court has decided to hear the various view points today on April 28, 2015.

With their fate dangling before getting the nod from top B schools in Maharashtra that could offer admission in MBA/MMS 2015-17 batch, 57224 candidates are looking up for help from Bombay High Court to announce the verdict on application of equi percentile process by DTE Maharashtra.

Candidates demanding re-test of MAH CET 2015 are expecting some strong directive from the court in course of hearing today April 28, 2015 after weighing the pros & cons of the corrective measures if presented by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra.

Bombay High Court has already directed DTE Maharashtra to make the application of equi percentile process error free and accordingly should present the corrective measures. Till then the entire admission process in Maharashtra B schools who are going to accept MAH CET 2015 scores has been stayed by the court. Since DTE could not present well defined corrective measures in detail and as such Bombay High Court has decided to hear the various view points today on April 28, 2015.

Percentile V/s Raw scores: No Match

The result of MAH CET 2015 exam has placed high scorer with 165 marks out of 200 marks at a lower percentile than the candidate with 155 out of 200 marks. Candidates have questioned the application of the equi percentile process and as such have challenged it in the High court to get justice.

Another fact is that instead of raw scores, percentile awarded by DTE in MAH CET 2015 will be the basis of admission to the top B schools in Centralized Admission Process conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

Now, another problem which has risen its head is that those who scored higher percentile despite scoring lower marks are not in favour of re-test for the fear of losing their rank and have filed petition against retest while those with higher score but lower percentile are in favour of re-test or some other strong corrective measures as they are confident of scoring high marks again.

Petitions have been filed in different benches of Bombay High Court in Aurangabad, Nagpur as well. Honourable High Court has clubbed all the petitions and today the hearing on all of them will be made in the High Court.

DTE has submitted its affidavit in response to the PIL filed against the equi percentile process in Nagpur and has stated that it is applicable to all PILs filed. Bombay allowed time till Tuesday April 28, 2015 to circulate copy of affidavit to all lawyers representing for MAH CET 2015 Re-Test.
