To encourage the institute industry interaction, Asia-Pacific Institute of Management (AIM), New Delhi organized a knowledge sharing session with industry experts on June 4, 2015. This has great bearing on the Management Institute’s Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to management students and subsequent placement of young graduating managers

With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy in the 90s to outside world, competition among various industry segments has become stiff. To solve their management problems they look up now to management institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare management students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer roles, responsibilities and methodologies. These very relevant objectives can only be achieved by bridging the gap between industry and the academic institute.

Asia-pacific institute of Management, New Delhi, taking the proactive step in this regard, encourages its faculty and students to interact with industry in all possible ways. This interaction is with the spirit of deriving mutual benefit. In this endeavour, the institute organized a knowledge sharing session with industry experts on June 4, 2015.

Asia Pacific Promoting Industry-Institute Interaction
With a vision of better future for its students and making more innovations in the curriculum in accordance with industry needs, Asia pacific Institute of Management has decided to launch more joint research programmes and field studies by faculty of the b school and experts from industries.

There would be more visits of faculty to industry for study and discussions or delivering lectures on subjects of mutual interest while industry executives will also visit the Institute for seeing research work and, discussions and delivering lectures on industrial practices, trends and experiences.

Accordingly the Memoranda of Understanding between the Institute and industries to bring the two sides emotionally and strategically closer would also be signed. There will be more workshops, conferences and symposia with joint participation of the faculty and the industries.

Industry experts will also participate in curriculum development and there would be collaborative degree programmes.

Industries have agreed that there would be visiting faculty/professors from industries to the B school and there would also be professorial chairs sponsored by industries at the Institute. Time to time students of Asia Pacific will get practical training in industries. Besides, Industries will institute scholarships/fellowships for the students of the B school.

According to Asia-Pacific Institute of Management ‘The institute is incessantly working to build partnership with industry for the benefit of its students. These interactions with well-known industry players will provide our students an opportunity to get industry exposure through guest lectures and other such initiatives’.

To foster better and uninterrupted interaction between management institutions and industry is the need of the hour. It makes great impact on shaping and designing the Management Institute’s Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to management students and subsequent placement of young graduating managers in industries across the country.
