Particularly reputed for its technology management programmes, the International Business School (IBS) was established in 1997 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as a graduate school of management. The IBS was established with a vision to provide management education and training to students from technical background. IBS Malaysia is renowned for its MBA programmes in Techno-Entrepreneurship; Strategic Management; Healthcare Management; Executive MBA; consulting services and other short term programs. Programs at IBS are delivered by professionals who are academically and professionally experienced and qualified. IBS UTM MBA
The MBA program at IBS is designed to train and develop managerial leaders who can apply their contemporary skills and knowledge in managing organizations. The full time programme can be completed in one and a half year. The programme structure consists of core and elective modules. Core courses include Managing IT for Business, Strategic Management, Marketing Management etc. Elective courses include Technology Management and Innovation, Global Business Environment, Operation and Project Management and Business Research Project. After completion of 10 core courses students are given the option of choosing their desired field of concentration which includes Strategic Management, Techno-entrepreneurship, Healthcare Management or General Management.

Techno-Entrepreneurship module
The unique Techno-entrepreneurship concentration was first introduced in collaboration with Cranfield School of Management, UK. This concentration is designed to produce managers / entrepreneurs who will; efficiently manage technology and its relevant human resources; skillfully generate ideas and strategies to produce new product; acquire and use entrepreneurial skills creatively and innovatively, either within their own organization or by establishing their own business.

Experiential Learning at IBS
At IBS, the programme is delivered through experiential learning process. Students are encouraged to apply their theoretical knowledge to practice by various company visits, research projects and other immersion programmes.

Research Collaboration
UTM-IBS collaborates with the government and the industry in some high impact projects which are aimed at identifying business problems and solutions. Some major projects in recent years include

Admission – Requirements and Deadlines
Admission procedure to IBS is online. Candidates must have successfully completed bachelor’s degree and must have a minimum 2 years of work experience. A valid GMAT score and a valid TOEFL/IELTS score is required.

Admissions to IBS-UTM are on a rolling basis and accepted throughout the year. The programme starts from September every year.

Tuition Fee
Tuition Fee of the MBA programme at IBS is RM 30,000 (approx INR 5 lacs). The fee is for 3 semesters (1 and 1/2 year) for Graduate on Time Duration (GOT). Student can extend their study maximum to 6 semesters (3 years) with some extra charges.
