Cornell University launches CEMP; move to revamp General Management landscape in India

In a landmark development to revamp the general management education landscape in India, Cornell University, the globally-acclaimed Ivy League University has launched a specially-designed ‘Cornell-ILR Experienced Managers Program (CEMP)’ for Indian professionals on July 1, 2015 at New Delhi. The 12-month certificate program crafted to bring the next stage of career growth for mid-level professionals/entrepreneurs offers insights into integral managerial decision-making processes. Cornell University has selected Pearson as their ‘learning partner’ for this management programme in India.

Admission process for the first batch of participants has already begun and the enrollment process will remain open until September 23, 2015. The programme is proposed to start on October 23, 2015. Minimum 7 years of professional work experience is required to participate in the management programme.

CEMP is designed around 4 core themes that include Managing the Business, Managing People & Teams, Managing the Organization, and Managing the Strategy. The program concentrates on core competencies of management, including Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Strategy. CEMP proposes to follow an integrated approach, covering theoretical as well as practical modes of learning.

To provide an even more in-depth focus in certain management areas, the program includes a five-day immersion program at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and New York City. This immersion program focuses on key areas, such as leadership, innovation, and agility.

Mr. Joe Grasso, Co-Director of the Cornell-ILR Experienced Managers Program states, “We have designed this program specifically for Indian professionals, keeping in mind the emerging trends and local market requirements.”

CEMP’s first learning centre has been set up at Gurgaon in Haryana. The advanced learning centre will hold in-country seminars (taught by Cornell and Indian practitioner faculty), live online classes, faculty sessions and networking events.

Managing Director of Pearson India Mr. Deepak Mehrotra has also welcomed this association with Cornell.

The fee for the CEMP is US$ 15,000, inclusive of  5 day Immersion Program at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and New York City.
