Hardly a week is to go for release of CAT 2015 exam notification which is proposed to be released on July 26, 2015 with many changes and surprises making the forthcoming CAT as the first of its kind of examination during past many years.
Sharing with MBAUniverse.com, Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, CAT 2015 convener and faculty at IIM Ahmedabad has confirmed the CAT 2015 notification date saying “The official CAT 2015 notification will be released on 26th July, 2015.” Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad in partnership with the CAT testing agency TCS would be conducting Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 for admission session 2016-17.
CAT 2015 notification will be released in leading news papers on July 26, 2015 along with all the details regarding CAT 2015 exam like opening and closing of CAT 2015 registration date, issue of admit card, application fee, exam dates and number of test centres.
There will be many firsts in the notification including single day two sessions CAT 2015 and an early CAT 2015 which is proposed. The exam, instead of November could be held sometime in October 2015. The notification containing all the details on Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 would be published on July 26, 2015 in all the leading newspapers.
Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 is the mandatory exam for admission to flagship post graduate management programme in 20 IIMs and other top rated B schools for the academic session beginning 2016. At present there are 19 IIMs and the 20th in the family of IIMs will be IIM J&K which will start functioning from 2016.
Registration to open in Aug first week
Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 registration will open in the first week of August 2015 and will continue till late September 2015. CAT 2015 does not propose to offer any facility of Off- line voucher purchase and all the registration activity shall have to be completed on-line only.
CAT 2015: Exam pattern
Questions in CAT 2015 are expected to be 100 divided with 50 questions in each of the 2 sections. The time allotted in CAT 2015 is expected to remain 170 minutes. The difficulty level of questions in CAT 2015 might go up. CAT 2015 aspirants would need good preparation strategy and planning for CAT 2015.
In case CAT 2015 is conducted earlier and in a single day as shared by CAT 2015 convener, the result for the exam will also be declared much earlier say in the month of November 2015 or in the first week of December 2015. This will also facilitate the completion of admission process and beginning of academic session 2016 at IIMs and other top B schools who accept CAT scores much earlier than in the months of June/July 2016.
