The FMS exam was held in over forty centers in Delhi, and elsewhere in the country, on January 13. MBAUniverse.com was present on the spot and spoke to aspirants before and after the exam for their feedback.

But first some basics of the paper. The two hour exam had 175 questions in total, spread across three broad sections. Quantitative section comprised of 50 questions, Reasoning ability section also had 50 questions, and then there were two sections broadly testing the English language skills of aspirants – the Reading comprehension section had 40 questions while Verbal ability section had 35 questions. Each question carried four marks for correct answer and minus one mark (negative) for incorrect answer.

The general response of test takers, that we spoke with, was that while the paper was moderate in its difficulty level, it was way too lengthy. Said St Stephens' Vinay, "FMS was totally different from CAT. While CAT had just 75 questions, FMS test had 175. This puts a pressure on time. Someone who could scan the paper fast, and pick and choose the easy questions, would have done well."

Another test taker Neha from Sri Ram College of Commerce said, "I found quant easy, but reasoning tough. Unseen passages were lengthy, some stretching to two pages. FMS test was a speed game."
