Announcement of CAT 2015 exam date for November 29, 2015 prior to publication of official notification has created chaos and confusion among the 200000 aspirants expected to appear in the test.
I dont know where from they received this information. I have no idea who leaked it Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, convener CAT 2015 and faculty IIM Ahmedabad

The announcement of CAT 2015 exam date for November 29, 2015 prior to publication of official notification has created chaos and confusion among the 200000 aspirants expected to appear in the test. The CAT 2015 official notification is proposed to be out on July 26, 2015 in all the leading news papers after which the website for CAT 2015 will also be launched. But the information from some source leaked and appeared in media reports on July 23, 2015, three days prior to release of official notification with no knowledge of source of information to the CAT 2015 convener.

Probably for the first time in the history of Common Admission Test (CAT) the exam and registration start dates have been leaked in public domain even before the release of notification for CAT 2015. The irony is that the CAT 2015 convener is not aware about the source of information to this news item. Quite perturbed and unaware on source of the leak of this information, Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, convener CAT 2015 and faculty IIM Ahmedabad has shared with MBAUniverse.com“I don't know where from they received this information. I have no idea who leaked it”.

Rely or not rely upon the information
The announcement on July 23, 2015 in public domain that CAT 2015 registration would begin on August 6, 2015 and the exam will be held on November 29, 2015 in a single day 2 sessions could be relied upon or it could be a hoax, is a big confusion as the official notification is not yet out nor the website of CAT 2015 has been launched.

Relax! Announced Dates are correct
Although the source of information as stated by CAT 2015 convener may not be known to him, but on being asked whether the stated dates are correct Prof Bandyopadhyay has confirmed that “Dates are all correct.”

CAT 2015 aspirants are therefore advised not to get confused any more as their exam is going to take place on November 29, 2015 in 2 sessions. The exam proposes to have 100 questions to be solved in 170 minutes.

Registration for CAT 2015 is proposed to begin on August 6, 2015 and will continue till the end of September, 2015.

Aspirants expected early CAT 2015
The announcement of CAT 2015 exam date for November 29, 2015 has taken the aspirants off guard as they were expecting an early CAT 2015 in the month of October 2015. But due to proposed assembly elections in Bihar in the month of October/November 2015, the CAT 2015 exam has been delayed by a month. In fact the term of Bihar Assembly will be over on November 29, 2015 and Election Commission of India may not stretch the elections any further beyond November 1st or 2nd week, the CAT Centre 2015 must have decided on November 29, 2015 as the exam date due to this factor also.

More days to prepare but fear of delayed result in air
Although CAT 2015 aspirants will have few more days to prepare for the exam, candidates are apprehensive that the late CAT 2015 in a single day on November 29, 2015 may further delay the declaration of exam result.

Besides since CAT 2015 will be a single day exam, few more days of preparation may not do any good to the test takers as no clue on the trend of questions will be available to them on the exam day nor it will help them to prepare further for few more days. The only clue will be the practice test which will be available on CAT 2015 website a month before the exam and this can guide the candidates about the proposed topics on which questions would be framed in CAT 2015.

There is no need to panic and get confused. Prof S K Agarwal, expert on Verbal Ability suggests aspirants to march on the path of their preparation journey and focus on practice questions on the topics like FIJ, RC, Error corrections, jumbled paragraphs, para summary. Since the CAT 2015 exam date is now known to them, they could plan their preparation journey well.

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 is the mandatory entrance exam for the admission to flagship PGP 2016-18 batch comprising 5500+ seats in 20 IIMs and more than 10000 seats in other top rated B schools like FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, IMT, BIMTECH, NITIE, JBIMS, TAPMI, Great Lakes among others.
