IMC 2015 has 2 plenary sessions on day 1
There were 2 plenary sessions on the very first day of IMC 2015 as well as the case study presentations by the finalists of IMC 2015 awards.

Plenary session 1 focused on the theme ‘Enhancing Student Engagement & Learning Outcomes’ and shared on the innovations in the areas of what must be taught in a B-school curriculum and 'how we teach’, or the Pedagogy. Across the World, in addition to traditional approaches like Case-method or Lectures, there has been a call for innovation in teaching methodology like team challenges, simulations, field work, industry-focused immersion experiences, career treks  and technology aided pedagogical tools like LMS, M-Learning, Flipped-classroom, MOOCs . The need was felt how the B-schools in India can leverage these innovations to enhance Student Engagement & Learning Outcomes.

Session speakers highlighted the opportunities and approaches. The first plenary Session was chaired by Dr Shekhar Chaudhuri, Former Director & Professor, IIM Calcutta.  Panel Speakers were Prof Arun Pereira, Executive Director, Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Case Development, Indian School of Business (ISB);  Mr Michael J Cruz, VP & MD, Emerald Group Publishing;  Ms Anjuli Gupta, Regional Manager, Academic Partnerships for Asia and Latin America, Coursera.

The  Panel Speakers were Mr S Sivakumar, Group Head - Agri & IT Businesses, ITC Limited;  Mr Kunal Dureja, Country Manager - Career Education, IBM;  Mr Ravi Varansi, Chief-Business Development, National Stock Exchange (NSE).  The Plenary session highlighted that the B-schools aspiring to get deeply engaged with industry partners must answer a pragmatic question - why should industry, ever short of time and bandwidth, engage with you? Are you likely to solve problems in areas like providing skilled talent, or conducting research in areas of a firm’s strategic interest or contribute in other areas that firm values? Industry experts offered their perspectives on this theme focusing that the importance of building strategic relationships with Industry cannot be over emphasized although it can positively impact the curriculum, facilitate research and knowledge creation, improve employability, raise funds, and support many other areas.
