Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur concluded its annual inter-B-school 3 day flagship Sports & Cultural Festival fest “Valhalla 2015” on July 26, 2015. The 4th edition of the fest featuring number of events across the spectrum of sports, cultural and outdoor events was organized at XLRI campus.

The 3 day extravaganza included a mélange of events ranging from dance, drama and debate to various sporting spectacles of gladiatorial proportions and was participated by students from other leading B-Schools in the country including the IIMs, XIMB, SIBM, and NMIMS along with the home school.

VALHALLA 2015 came forward to support Milaap, a crowd-funded micro-financing cooperative and handed over an amount of more than Rs. 2,50,000 collected during the event.

VALHALLA 2015 was inaugurated by Dr. Pranabesh Ray, Dean (Academics) at XLRI and Fr. James Santhanam, S.J. Dean (Student Affairs) at XLRI on July 24, 2015 and the event kick-started with a spellbinding performance by Prince Dance Group, the ensemble dance troupe from Odisha.

The prominent sporting events included Kabaddi, basketball, football, table tennis, volley ball, badminton, throw ball and chess. Exciting cultural events including the stage play, fashion show, solo dance, group dance, Music, quiz, debate, street play and solo singing were held. 

As in the previous years, ‘VALHALLA 2015’ yet again presented some of the best talents in the field of music and dance in their Pro-Nights. After the performance by Prince Dance Group on the first evening, celebrity singer Shilpa Rao enthralled the audiences at the Pro-Nights on the second evening of VALHALLA 2015.

The 4th Edition of “Philips presents VALHALLA 2015, powered by Star” ended with the performance by the XLRI band – ‘Bodhi Tree’ that included a special performance by the members of the Bodhi Tree of the XLRI 2003-2005 batch.

Valhalla, the annual Sports and Cultural fest organized by the students of XLRI Jamshedpur saw its conception in 2012. Valhalla means the Hall of Heroes in the Norse mythology and  aims to provide a wide array of events for students to take part in; ranging from several Individual and team sports, cultural events ranging from Dance and singing; XL BedRock, a full fledged battle of the bands and a unique opportunity to take in an adventure sports experience, in addition to numerous celebrity and local performances.
