IIM Ahmedabad the CAT 2015 convening IIM has opened the registration and application process for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 today on Aug 6, 2015 at 10 AM. The registration process will remain open till 11.59PM on September 20, 2015, making it 46 day registration window.
Along with opening the registration process, a registration video and specific registration guidelines to apprise CAT 2015 aspirants about the process have also been launched on CAT website. The registration process is rated more aspirant friendly.
While filling in the details of the registration and application for CAT 2015, the maximum time in single sitting allowed is 30 minutes. In case candidates are not able to register during the prescribed time limit, they will have to login again. However they can save the data and complete the registration in steps.
IIM Ahmedabad has kept the entire registration process for CAT 2015 purely on-line and candidates have to pay the CAT 2015 registration fee of rs.1600/- through various online instruments like Credit/Debit cards; net banking among others. The off-line voucher purchase process for CAT exam was scrapped totally in CAT 2014 and the online system continues now.
During the registration process candidates will have the liberty to choose the 4 most preferred test cities out of 136 centres and 650 testing sites.
It has also been decided by CAT Centre 2015 to assign a test centre to the female candidates in the city area to encourage them to take the test. Till now around 10% candidates remain absent in CAT exam. The move may increase the attendance in the exam.
The admit cards for CAT 2015 will be available from October 15, 2015 onwards and will have to be downloaded from CAT 2014 website.
CAT 2015 will be a single day 2 session exam and will be held on November 29, 2015 across the country at 650 testing venue. The shortlisted candidates on the basis of CAT 2015 scores will have the opportunity to get admission in Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in 2016. It is expected that around 2 lacs candidates will register for CAT 2015.
