XLRI Jamshedpur the XAT 2016 conducting institute has announced the registration for XAT 2016 open today on September 4, 2015. The last date to register and apply for XAT 2016 is November 30, 2015. XAT 2016 exam will be held on January 3, 2016 in a single session in paper pen mode.

Registration process for XAT 2016 is online however the payment of registration fee can be made online or in cash or by demand draft. XAT 2016 registration and application fee has been increased to Rs.1500/- from Rs.1000/- in XAT 2015. Those who wish to apply for XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs.250/- for each programme.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2016 is the gateway to more than 141 highly ranked B schools in India including XLRI, XIMB, SPJIMR, IMT among others. A high score in XAT 2016 may get you shortlisted for next round of admission process at one of the top rated B schools in the country.

Registration and application process to XAT 2016 will remain open till November 30, 2015. The 3 month time is sufficient to register and apply for the exam.

Registration process: Key points

1. Registration to XAT 2016 will be an online process

2. First part of registration is to be completed by creating the candidate profile

3. After receiving the XAT 2016 ID. All the further steps will have to be completed with XAT ID and password

4. The application form can be accessed by login with XAT ID and will have to completed step by step.

5. If you are interested to apply for XLRI, select the programme of your choice out of Business Management (BM); Human Resource Management (HRM); Global Business Management (GBM) and General Management Programme (GMP). If you are not interested to apply to any of the XLRI programmes, you can skip this step.

6. You are required to provide details of work experience. If you are interested to apply to XLRI GMP, you need to have a minimum work experience of 5 years till March 31, 2016.

7. Keep the information ready to complete the process smoothly. You will need all your academic details right from class X onwards; scanned copy of photo and signature of prescribed size among others.

8. XAT 2016 registration fee is Rs.1500/- (increased by Rs.500/- from last year XAT). There would be 3 payment modes to pay the XAT 2016 registration and application fee namely Online fee payment through net banking/credit/debit cards; by demand draft or by cash payment at IDBI bank. You can choose any of them.

9.After completion of registration and application you will get the confirmation. You are supposed to print this XAT 2016 confirmation page for your reference. In future for all correspondence with XAT office, quote your XAT ID.

XAT 2016: Eligibility
XAT 2016 aspirants must have recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final graduation exam by June 10, 2016 may also apply. XAT 2016 is the mandatory exam for admission to member and associate B-schools for Indian candidates, the NRI and foreign candidates may apply through their valid GMAT scores.

Candidates in Dubai and Kathmandu have the option of appearing in XAT 2016 or applying through GMAT scores.

The format of XAT would remain pen-paper based. This is to ensure that candidates of all backgrounds are at par, so that those who have pre-familiarity of operating computers, specially coming from privileged background or having worked in IT sector, do not get any advantage over others who do not have access to computers. The paper-pen mode also ensures that all candidates are tested on exactly the same set of questions, and not on different sets.

XAT is the second largest MBA/PGDM entrance exam after CAT. XLRI has been conducting XAT on behalf of XAMI for the last 60 years at All India level in the paper pen mode to provide level playing field for the XAT aspirants coming from all backgrounds.

XAT 2016 is proposed to be a 3 hours test.  The test is proposed to be conducted in 47 cities on January 3, 2016 across India in a single session beginning from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM with no break in between.
XAT 2016 will be divided between Objective MCQs and subjective Essay Writing tests. The Multiple choice questions (MCQs) part will be over in 150 minutes and next 30 minutes will be allotted for essay writing part.

XAT 2016 test takers will have to complete the first 3 sections of the first part of the MCQ exam namely Verbal and Logical Ability; Decision Making; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation in 140 minutes while questions in General Knowledge section will have to be attempted in 10 minutes only. 30 minutes will separately be allotted for essay writing test.
