Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon was formed as an autonomous body in the year 1973. Launched in 1994, the 2 year full time PGPM with an intake of 240 students, is the flagship programme at MDI. The PGP-HR and PGP-IM have an intake of 60 students each.
The rigorous programmes have been carefully designed to meet the needs of today’s business and develop professional managers who can achieve high levels of excellence at responsible positions in global environment management.
The teaching-learning method includes lectures, case studies, seminars, live projects, group discussions, role plays, business games, experiential learning activities, field visits. The curriculum is regularly revised with the help of industry professionals to reflect current business needs.
Admission to all PGPM 2016-18 programmes will be through CAT 2015 exam to be held on November 29, 2015. The registration and application process for CAT 2015 is open till September 20, 2015. Most relevant Summer Internship
After completion of the PGPM first year at MDI, students undertake summer training with an organization. The internship usually lasts for 6 to 8 weeks. The summer internship provides the much needed exposure to real world applications of the classroom theory and business realities.

Students take elective courses in the second year to specialize in a maximum of two functional areas. Specializations are offered in Finance, Information Management, Marketing, Strategy and Operations Management.
High Placement 2015
MDI Gurgaon has a consistent record of excellent placement. A total of 174 recruiters participated in the Final Placements 2015 at MDI Gurgaon, with 17 being first time recruiters.71 students accepted the Pre-Placement offers this year. Out of the flagship PGPM 2013-15 batch comprising 239 students, PGP-HRM batch with 60 students and PGP-IM with 37 students, 8 students opted out of the placement process and decided to take the entrepreneurial path.
MDI saw a rise of 15% in average salary which went up to Rs.16.86 lakhs for flagship PGPM. The highest compensation also increased to Rs. 25.18 lakhs. Average international compensation was Rs. 31.36 lakhs in placement 2015 at MDI Gurgaon.
