IIM Ahmedabad Case Centre gets Rs. 2 Cr funding support from Bank of Baroda (BoB) to give an impetus to Case Research on Banking & Financial Services.

Announcing on Monday Sep 28, 2015, the contribution of over 2 crores to boost the case research at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad,  Ranjan Dhawan, Managing Director & CEO,
Bank of Baroda said “One should not see Bank of Baroda’s contribution in the light of only funding research output of IIMA. It is an amalgamation of a shared vision to make a difference in the quality of available research cases to benefit the sector. Bank of Baroda, as a leading bank, has always been committed to quality internal training and has been supportive of similar initiatives.”

The funding is part of the Institute’s effort to reach out to the industry and collaborate on field based research. Thanking Board of Directors and the apex academy of Bank of Baroda for supporting the important initiative Prof. Ashish Nanda, Director, IIM Ahmedabad said “This fund will sustain development of cases in banking and financial sector. Case studies are a wonderful means to conducting cutting-edge field-based, inductive research. The case materials that are produced will be available for research and teaching not only at IIMA, but also to other institutions, as we have been doing in the past with our case research.”

Bank of Baroda has been keen on supporting quality research in the Banking and Finance sector. IIM Ahmedabad is focusing intensively on strengthening its Case Centre. The coming together of both institutions will contribute to top quality research that is connected with the latest developments in banking and finance.

Case studies of IIM Ahmedabad are much sought after by the management institutes across the world for MBA education. According to Prof Ashish Nanda Director IIM Ahmedabad “At present, IIMA has more than 3,700 registered cases, which are largely distributed online through IIMA’s website”

Earlier this year in the month of March 2015, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), India, and the Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to create and distribute business cases that are used as classroom teaching tools in Universities around the world.
