The placement seasons over the years at Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon have consistently ended with yet higher salary packages indicating that placement at MDI is not a flash in the pan despite global economic slowdown. In placement 2015 more offers from e-commerce companies have been one of the highlights at MDI Gurgaon.

More recruiters have made more offers in the Placement season 2015 with higher placement packages than 2014.  More students participating in the placement process got desired placements in top rated companies at higher placement packages. Continuing for the past many years, the rising trend in placement packages at MDI Gurgaon has reinforced its position as one of the leading business school achieving stellar placements for the batch of 2013-15 in record time.

The industry reinstated its faith in MDI Gurgaon as past recruiters along with more new recruiters participated in the placement process 2015. The unique feature in the placement process was the diversity of profiles offered to the students which gave them a good choice in terms of industry and the role.

MDI placement trends
MDI Gurgaon has a consistent record of excellent placement. The average placement packages have consistently been on the rise during the past many years at MDI Gurgaon with more and more recruiters coming for placement year after year.

It may be noted that there is an increase of more than Rs. 2 lakhs in  average salary packages in all the 3 programmes at MDI Gurgaon in placement 2015 over 2014.

More recruiters with more offers
MDI Gurgaon witnessed more first time recruiters apart from the regular recruiters in placement 2015. A total of 174 recruiters participated in the Final Placements 2015 at MDI Gurgaon, with 17 being first time recruiters.71 students accepted the Pre-Placement offers this year.

E-commerce companies: Top Recruiters
Snapdeal made the highest number of offers recruiting 26 students for various roles in placement 2015. Flipkart recruited 17 students indicating that MDI Gurgaon is its preferred placement destination.

Nestle made a comeback after a brief gap. New recruiters included Adobe, The Bain Capability Centre, Bank of America, BT Global, Grail Research, Heinz, ICICI Prudential, Indus Valley, Maersk, NetApp, Novartis, PlayGames24X7, ReNew Power, Snapdeal, Stellium, Syngenta and Tata Communications.

Sales and Marketing domain saw maximum placement share in 2015.  The major recruiters comprised comprised companies from FMCG, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and telecommunication sectors.
Some of the leading recruiters were Arvind Mills, Asian Paints, Becton Dickinson, Boehringer Ingelheim, Castrol, Coca Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Emami, Flipkart, Maruti Suzuki, Idea, Novartis, RIL, Snapdeal, Tata Communications Tata Motors.

Finance
Many leading Finance firms made large number of offers with niche profiles. Major recruiters in this domain were American Express, Axis Bank, Bank of America, Citibank, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI Bank, India Alternatives, Indus Valley, JP Morgan, Nomura, Religare, Syngenta, Yes Bank, Wipro and others.

Consulting & Strategy
Diverse roles in the Consulting domain were offered by Adobe, The Boston Consulting, Cognizant, Deloitte, Grail, KPMG, MEC, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Synergy and Michael Page.

General Management
Number of general Management roles offered was one of the highest in placement 2015 at MDI Gurgaon.  Airtel, Essar, ICICI Prudential, Interglobe, Jindal Steel, Raymond, RIL offered business leadership profiles in this domain.

Information Management
Major participants in the domain of IT/IT Consulting were Accenture, Genpact, HCL, Hexaware, IBM, Infosys, McKinsey, MAQ, Mindtree, Nucleus, Rupee Power, TCS and Wipro.

Some of the top technology firms that recruited this year included Adobe, Dell, Google, Lenovo, NetApp and SAP India. These recruiters offered varied roles in Sales and Marketing and Analytics.

Operations
Number of companies recruiting in the Operations domain rose significantly. Some of the major recruiters in this function were Arvind Brands, Aviva, BT Global, Genpact and L&T. Major E-commerce recruiters like e-bay, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Zovi also hired for their analytics and operations profile.

Human Resources
A whole gamut of companies recruited for the Human Resources function, proving the credibility of HRM programme at MDI Gurgaon. Major recruiters in placement 2015 were Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, Asian Paints, Aviva, Axis Bank, Cognizant, Colgate Palmolive, Citibank, Deloitte, Eli Lilly, Ernst & Young, Fidelity Investment, Flipkart, HCL, HDFC Bank, Whirlpool and many others.

Companies making international offers included Tolaram Group and Paramount Systems, with roles being based out of Africa and the Middle East.
