‘Transforming Indian Higher Education’ the book authored by Dr H Chaturvedi, Alt President EPSI and Director BIMTECH Greater Noida has been unveiled by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab S Prakash Singh Badal at inaugural session of EPSI’s national summit in Chandigarh on October 8, 2015.
The book is all about the contemporary issues and challenges to the Indian Higher Education. Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI) is convening its national summit at Chandigarh on the theme “Higher Education for Skill Development & Employability”.
The book releasing and the inaugural session of EPSI’s National Summit was attended by more than 150 chancellors, vice chancellors, principal, heads of institutions and academicians from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, NCT Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and West Bengal.
Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi is professor and Director of the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) since 1999. He has more than three decades experience in teaching, research and academic administration. He has worked as director in AICTE, a statutory body under MHRD, Government of India; with the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the Board of Studies in Management of AICTE. Dr Chaturvedi was conferred Honorary Professorship by the St. Stevan University of Hungary in 2007. He is regularly invited by leading electronic channels and news papers to present his views on contemporary issues. He has several books, research papers, and articles to his credit. Dr. Chaturvedi has been a thought leader for higher education in India. He has been the concept maker of “Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI)” a national association of education institutions to facilitate development of education sector.
The Chief Minister of Punjab Mr Badal complimented Dr Chaturvedi for bringing out the book and marked his signatures on few copies. Transforming Indian Higher Education is a collection of writings on Indian higher education by some of the leading educationists, policy makers, academic leaders and edu-entrepreneurs in the country. The contributors to this volume have not only critically examined the evolution of the Indian higher education, but also endeavour to provide a future perspective for coming decades.
The book presents an insight into the growth, transition and other emerging issues and concerns that Indian Universities and institutions of higher learning have experienced during the last few decades.
