It is advisable to know the B-schools that would offer you admission after declaration of CMAT 2016 result as AICTE has not yet been able to publish and display the list of B-schools accepting CMAT 2016 score
All AICTE approved Institutes / Departments / Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges of Universities are expected to accept CMAT scores AICTE

Before finalizing your registration for CMAT 2016, you need to know the B-schools that would offer you admission after declaration of result. AICTE will conduct CMAT 2016 on January 17, 2016 and will declare the result on January 21, 2016 claiming All AICTE approved Institutes / Departments / Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges of Universities are expected to accept CMAT scores. The specific notifications issued by Universities and State Governments are available at CMAT website; www.aicte-cmat.in.”

But the facts speak some other story. So far AICTE has not been able to publish and display the updated list of B-schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes  on its site. The earlier list of B-schools that continued to be available for 3 years on AICTE website was never updated and during the period many B-schools despite offering AICTE approved MBA/PGDM never accepted CMAT scores. The earlier CMAT takers remained in dark and are still confused   whether the updated list of B-schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores would be made available by AICTE or they will have to remain in dark.

AICTE approved but wouldn’t accept CMAT 2016
There are number of AICTE approved institutes who are not going to accept CMAT 2016 scores and probably this is the reason that AICTE is shying away to display the updated list of B-schools on its site.
Going by AICTE claim that its approved institutions would be using CMAT 2016 scores, means that all the AICTE approved institutes should be using CMAT 2016 scores in admission 2016. However  the admission process of these B schools has no mention of CMAT 2016 scores. The aspirants should be on their guard before applying to these institutes as many of them may not accept CMAT 2016 scores. For example B schools like JBIMS, SPJIMR, IMI, FORE, CIMP despite being present in AICTE list wouldn’t accept CMAT 2016 scores.

Don’t get misguided
It is not important when AICTE chooses to update its list of B schools accepting CMAT scores, the importance is of the fact that the candidates, if they apply to these B schools, pay the application fee and at the later stage find that their time, energy and money have been wasted since these B schools wouldn’t accept CMAT 2016 scores, what they should do then?  Does the responsibility lie with AICTE or the B school? In the tug of war, this is the career of the applicant that comes at stake while the fixation of onus of responsibility lingers on.

It is difficult to assume and ascertain that the list is updated for admission session 2016-17. The question whether the list of AICTE approved institutions also means the list of institutions accepting CMAT 2016 scores is an important big issue. In fact it is not necessary for the B school to accept CMAT score for admission even if the respective PGDM/MBA programme is approved by AICTE.

Top B schools: Not accepting CMAT 2016 scores
If the candidate applies to the B school, pays the application fee, appears in CMAT 2016, scores high in the exam, and to his dismay he finds that the B school will not shortlist the candidates on the basis of CMAT 2016 scores, how should he react? Out of many, following few B schools, despite offering AICTE approved programmes are not going to accept CMAT 2016 scores. Please be careful when you apply to these B schools

IMI New Delhi: Not accepting CMAT scores
International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi wouldn’t accept CMAT 2016 scores for PGDM admission 2016.

IMI New Delhi admission application process, on the other hand says that it would accept only CAT 2015 and GMAT scores to shortlist the candidates for their flagship PGDM admission batch 2016-18. The admission application process at IMI is open till December 5, 2015.

FORE, New Delhi: No CMAT scores
FORE school of Management, Delhi in on AICTE approved list of institutes but it wouldn’t accept CMAT 2016 scores for admission to PGDM 2016-18 batch. The highly ranked B school will accept CAT 2015/ XAT 2016 and GMAT scores but not the CMAT 2016 scores. There is not even a remote mention in FORE admission process 2016 that it could accept CMAT scores.

The admission application process at FORE is open and will remain open till November 16, 2015.

SPJIMR, Mumbai: No CMAT scores accepted
SPJIMR, Mumbai was also mentioned in the AICTE list.  The fact that SPJIMR does not accept the CMAT score has not yet prompted the AICTE to update its list.

SPJIMR, Mumbai is one of the top rated B schools in India. The admission application process to its flagship PGDM programme will close on December 7, 2015. The B school will accept CAT 2015 and XAT 2016 scores apart from GMAT scores. But the CMAT 2016 scores wouldn’t be accepted by this B school to shortlist the candidates for admission 2016.

LBSIM, New Delhi: Only CAT 2015 scores acceptable
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM) New Delhi is also one of the renowned B schools in Delhi and is AICTE approved. So far AICTE has been claiming that LBSIM would accept CMAT scores. Its name appears at serial number 19 to 22 at the following link on AICTE site http://www.aicte-india.org/downloads/MGMT/DELHI_MGMT.pdf#toolbar=0 . But LBSIM admission eligibility and process declares the acceptance of CAT 2015 scores only. CMAT 2016 scores will not be accepted by LBSIM as the admission process clarifies. The registration process is open till December 12, 2015 at LBSIM. Those who are going to appear in CAT 2015 can apply to LBSIM.

CMAT 2016:Registration is Open
Registration and application process for CMAT 2016 is open and according to AICTE the process will close on December 10, 2015.

CMAT is one of the largest management entrance tests after CAT and XAT. Around 1 lakh candidates are expected to register for CMAT 2016. Apart from B schools that are going to accept CAT/XAT scores, there are other leading B schools who accept CMAT scores.

Most of the highly ranked AICTE approved B schools will close their admission application process shortly as is shared above. In case applicants remain confused they will miss the bus. In fact AICTE must update the list of B schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores so that the aspirants may decide accordingly.
