If you are carrying any other small articles, like watch, mobile phone, stationery of any type;  they will be kept and stored away from the testing room in small plastic bags. It is advisable not to carry bags or valuables to the testing centres.

Report an hour before the exam
You are supposed to report at the test centre an hour before the testing time with all the required documents. You will invest 2 hours inside the testing room without break. It needs a refreshed and cool mind needed to attempt the tricky IIFT 2015 exam which is going to place 120-130 questions before you, making you run a mini-marathon without breaks.

Inside the IIFT Testing Room
Prof S K Agarwal Expert and mentor on IIFT preparation shares the testing room strategy to tackle the IIFT exam and score high. Your preparation for CAT 2015 must have well prepared you for IIFT 2015 as well. While the preparation on Quant, DI, LR and Verbal Ability is more or less same as same topics are covered in both the exams, it is the General Awareness that needs extra time which you must have already gone through.

Time management
Avoid getting stuck on one question and move to other one if question is found beyond the reach or lengthy.  IIFT entrance has more number of questions (from 115 to 130) in comparison to CAT where you have 100 questions to attempt. Time allotted is also less than the CAT; 120 minutes as compared to 180 minutes in CAT 2015. Hence, the time management becomes a crucial factor in IIFT entrance test as there is approximately one minute per question to answer.

Avoid mistakes
It is no use attempting the questions, answers to which may be wrong or doubtful. The examination has one fourth negative marking and even a fraction of slip in percentile is very important. Another important feature about this test is the varying marking system in the range of 0.5 to 1. The aspirants can expect to get through if they score 45 to 50 percent. It is strongly advised not to go for any doubtful questions.

Cautiously use OMR sheet
IIFT entrance test is a paper pen test; You are required to darken the circle. Do not tear the OMR sheet with pointed darkening style nor leave it too light to detect the answer option. Darken the circle in appropriate way.

Begin with right type question from any section
IIFT exam is divided in four sections English comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, General Awareness. You should begin with the right type of questions from one section and should move to other sections in your initial attempts.

Please note that sectional cut off is also applicable in this examination.  You may be expert in one section but getting high in one section and not qualifying in another will not help. Please avoid sticking to one section.

Keep your cool
Maintain your cool if the examination is too difficult or lengthy, it will go for lower cut off and vice-versa.

Go carefully
Jumping to answer options before reading and understanding the questions is not good enough. Sometimes answer options are very close ones and in the enthusiasm, aspirants mark the wrong answer options despite knowing the right answer. So, Read all the options carefully before going to darken the circle.

Prof. S.K. Agarwal, expert in IIFT preparation suggests the candidates to remain fresh and avoid any hard hitting practice sessions.  Most of the candidates try to read and practice more mocks etc. on the day before their examination, thinking it will help more.  However, in view of the experts it sometimes becomes detrimental to your confidence level.
