New IIMs will be shortlisting 10000 candidates to offer admission to 860 students for their 6th batch of PGPM in academic year 2016-17
Minimum required CAT 2015 percentile to qualify for shortlisting announced by IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Tiruchirappalli and IIM Udaipur is not very high and stands at par with the newest IIMs

CAT 2015 test takers should feel happy as they are going to get one of the 6 IIMs at a lower percentile score as compared to other IIMs. These new IIMs will be shortlisting 10000 candidates to offer admission to 860 students for their 6th batch of PGPM in academic year 2016-17.  Indian Institute of management (IIM) Kashipur one the new IIMs who joined the family of IIMs in 2011 will be co-ordinating the Common Admission Process (CAP) 2016 for new IIMs. There will not be any GD round in the final PI process and WAT & PI will be the only components in the final admission round.  The CAP-IIM 2016 process will be conducted in 5 cities namely New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.

The minimum required CAT 2015 percentile to qualify for shortlisting announced by IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Tiruchirappalli and IIM Udaipur is not very high and stands at par with the newest IIMs like IIM BodhGaya and IIM Sirmaur who started operation in 2015 only.

Shortlisting Criteria at 6 IIMs
With more number of candidates proposed to be shortlisted and proposed to be offered admission in IIMs, the CAT 2015 minimum required percentile has either been reduced or has been kept at the same level. Many of the new IIMs are operating below their sanctioned intake and as such making the admission criteria rigorous further can have an adverse impact driving away the candidates to other B-schools.

This factor might have also prompted these IIMs to keep the shortlisting criteria at the same standard with an increased intake. Following CAT 2015 percentile will be the bare minimum requirement as the shortlisting criteria by the 6 IIMs -

IIM Kashipur

Intake PGP 2016-18:140

Required Sectional CAT 2015 percentile: 80

IIM Ranchi

IIM Trichy

IIM Udaipur

Required CAT 2015 percentile: 90
Required Sectional CAT 2015 percentile:80

It should be remembered that IIMs shortlist the candidates around 10 times of the sanctioned intake. Above intake may also be increased further, hence it is expected that around 10000 candidates will be shortlisted for the final admission round at these 6 IIMs.

Although the exact dates of CAP IIM 2016 have not been announced it is expected that CAP IIM 2016, the final admission round to new IIMs would begin sometime in the month of February 2016 after shortlisting of candidates is completed by these new IIMs.

According to the admission policy of new IIMs for PGP batch 2016-18 ‘The exact date for PI & WAT will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates by IIM Kashipur who is co-ordinating for 2016-18 batch on behalf of  IIM-Raipur, IIM-Ranchi, IIM-Rohtak, IIM-Tiruchirappalli, IIM- Udaipur and IIM-Kashipur’
