After all the ups and downs, the D day for CMAT 2016 has arrived and it is expected that AICTE will take all precautions and measures to conduct the test tomorrow on January 17, 2016 in a glitch free environment. The delay in issuance of Admit Card for CMAT 2016 has although the shaken the trust of aspirants yet the computer based CMAT 2016 remains the last hope to improve your score and explore admission opportunity in MBA/PGDM programme at a good B-school.

Get acquainted with navigation tools
The time to get you tested in CMAT 2016 has arrived. MBAUniverse.com brings the important do’s for the D-day. Arrange the Documents
Keep the documents ready as they will allow you to enter the examination hall. AICTE has instructed the CMAT 2016 aspirants to bring the following documents at the testing centre

-- Attested Copy of CMAT 2016 Admit Card with recent passport size photo pasted on it.
-- At least one original (not photocopied/scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification. Your name on photo id must match your name as entered in the CMAT application.
-- Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, UID card or a Notorized Affidavit (in English) with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address.
-- Photocopies of the original are not acceptable.
-- Please note that candidates will not be permitted to take the test if photo identification is not presented
-- SC/ST candidates are required to bring the valid caste certificate in original and an attested photocopy.
-- Physically Disabled candidates are required to bring the valid Disability certificate in original and an attested photocopy.
-- Attestation can be done by Institute Head also.

In case of changed name
Your name needs to be exactly identical to the name on your Xth Marks-sheet or equivalent for the candidates appearing for CMAT 2016 on January 17, 2016. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document like Marriage certificate, Divorce decree, legal name change document. A photocopy of the said document is to be submitted at the time of test, interview and at the time of joining the programme.

Get Affidavit if no photo Id available
You will not be allowed inside the testing hall in case the prescribed photo id is not available. But there is always a way to get out of the impasse.

If you have none of the photo ids available as of now, relax, it won’t take much of your time, go to a notary near  your place with one passport size photograph and a non judicial stamp paper worth Rs. 10/-; get the affidavit prepared  ( Amount may vary from state to state to get the Affidavit prepared)  and the job is done.  Affidavit format is available on CMAT website.

Please remember that all the required details are duly filled in the Affidavit which should be in English with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address. Photocopy of the original is not permitted.

To do list before arriving at CMAT 2016 test venue
You are supposed to report at the examination centre 90 minutes before the scheduled time of examination. Since your examination begins at 9.30 A.M., you should arrive at the centre by 8 A.M.

Check the distance, mode of conveyance and time to cover this distance, to reach the examination centre today.  You are supposed to be absolutely clear on this aspect, so plan your travel accordingly.  If you are an outsider, reach a day before and stay as near to the centre as possible.

Don’t carry more than required articles
If you carry more than the mandatory items to the test venue, please remember you will have to store all these personal items at the test centre at your own risk and without any responsibility of the test centre. It is therefore advisable not to carry any other items to the test centre, as they are not permitted inside the testing centre.

Security check begins at 8AM
The check-in process will start one and a half hour before the examination.  Keep your Admit card, identification documents and other required document ready for examination. You will be allowed to take only these documents inside the CMAT 2016 testing room.

If you are carrying any other small articles, like watch, mobile phone, stationery of any type; they will be kept and stored away from the testing room at your own risk. It is advisable not to carry bags or valuables to the testing centres as there may not be any facility to store them.

No break during CMAT 2016
CMAT 2016 is a 3 hour no break test. The exam begins at 9.30AM and will be over at 12.30PM. Even if you complete the test before the scheduled hour, you wouldn’t be allowed to come out of the testing hall. Since you have to report at the test centre at 8AM, it will further add one and half hour to the test duration making it four and half hour.

It is therefore, advisable to go to the wash room before the doors are closed and test begins. Please note that, after the doors are closed and during the test period, you may not be allowed to go to the rest room.

How to proceed with the test
Read the guidelines and directions carefully before beginning to attempt the questions in CMAT 2016 test. Anything misinterpreted may be disastrous. Take more attempts and try to answer the questions with higher accuracy level. You have around 108 seconds per question to answer, so just relax and maintaining your cool, improve your attempts. Don’t waste more time on one question.  If time permits you may review it afterwards as there is no restriction on moving to and fro among the 4 sections of CMAT 2016 exam.

But please note that freedom to move from one section to another shouldn’t be wasted on simply scanning the question paper. Keep a balance and solve the questions from all the sections cautiously.

Make optimum use of the pencils, eraser and scratch paper that will be provided to you for calculation and rough work during the examination.  While going through the Reading comprehension passages note down important words and sentences, this will enable you to answer most of the questions based on RC passages.

Adhere to time schedule
You are supposed to complete the CMAT 2016 test within the time.  If you complete the examination before 180 minutes you should review the various answers you have selected.

AICTE will conduct the yearly CMAT 2016 tomorrow on January 17, 2016 in a single session for admission to MBA/PGDM 2016-18 batch in 400+ B schools.  The National Level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2016 will be an online computer based test, conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) once a year from now on. Earlier CMAT used to be twice a year test. CMAT 2016 will take place in 62 cities all across India and will be of 3 hour duration test from 9.30 AM to 12.30PM.

CMAT 2016 will be divided in 4 sections with 25 questions each and each section carries equal weightage. Hence getting good score in each of the 4 sections is necessary. You will not be allowed to move out of the Testing-lab although you might have finished the test.  It is therefore advisable to hang on till the testing time is over and maximise your attempts to score high.
