CMAT 2016 Result declared: 55084 qualify; topper scores 300 marks; Get premium B Schools

55084 candidates have qualified CMAT 2016 and the 100 percentiler has scored 300 marks out of maximum 400 marks while 623 have scored negative marks
Admission to the B schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores with cut offs between 100 to 300 marks are still open and if you can apply within the given time frame, you may get very good B school

AICTE has declared the CMAT 2016 result late in the evening on January 21, 2016 the pre-declared date. All India CMAT 2016 merit list comprises 55084 candidates who have qualified CMAT 2016. The 100 percentiler Jivtesh Singh has knocked 300 out of maximum 400 marks in CMAT 2016. 623 candidates have scored negative marks but have not been disqualified as per the AICTE policy. The result was declared after 10PM on January 21, 2016.

CMAT 2016 test takers have been waiting since morning but there was no indication from AICTE about the time of declaration of result. Replying to the MBAUniverse.com query whether the result would be declared on January 21 or would be delayed, Dr Siddalinga Swamy, Director AICTE responded “We are in the process of Announcing the RESULTS as scheduled”.

It has been the fastest declaration of CMAT result in the history of the exam as it has taken AICTE only 5 days from the exam day to declare the result. There are more than 400 B schools who will accept CMAT 2016 score for admission to their MBA/PGDM programmes beginning 2016.

Admission to the B-schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores with cut offs between 100 to 300 marks are still open and if you can apply within the given time frame, you may get very good B-school with CMAT 2016 scores. Surprisingly even a bit low scores in the range of 100 to 200 can offer you admission to one of the good B-school offering AICTE approved PGDM programme.

CMAT 2016 test was conducted on January 17, 2016 in a single session in computer based format across the country in 62 test cities. AICTE has displayed All India merit list for all the CMAT 2016 test takers.

View, download and print the score card
CMAT 2016 test takers can view, download and take the print of their score cards from the AICTE-CMAT site by clicking on the ‘View Score Card’ on the home page. Besides the All India Merit list is displayed on CMAT site.

AICTE has given the guidelines that the candidates would be able to download the electronically generated score card with complete details using their login details from http://www.aicte-cmat.in from 21st January 2016 onwards. Separate Score Cards will not be sent by email or by post to the candidates.

You are supposed to click on ‘Existing User’ on the home page to view and download the Score Card. Next window will ask you to login with your registered id and password to view and download the score card. You should take a print of the score card if you wish to apply to a good B school for admission to PGDM programme 2016-18. You can also view your scores in the All India Merit list announced by AICTE.

CMAT doesn’t disqualify the test taker
CMAT does not disqualify any test taker. According to AICTE “The results will rank all the candidates who appeared in the test based on their aptitude towards the management education in the order of their merit. Candidates will not be declared as eliminated from the admission process in the AICTE approved management programme.  On the contrary the aim is to facilitate the institutions to select the suitable candidates as per the rank awarded by CMAT.”

As such all the candidates who appeared in CMAT 2016 and have scored even the negative marks have found a place in the merit list. The candidate can now explore admission possibilities on the basis of his/her scores in different B schools.

Choose the best B-school
Now is the time to choose the best of the 415 B-schools going to accept CMAT-2016 scores for PGDM 2016-18. Top B-schools with 200 and above score
Following B-schools although have high score requirement in CMAT but it is very much possible that you may get admission to these B-schools below 250 score in CMAT 2016. The wider range of CMAT 2016 score between 200 to 300 is expected to be the cut offs in these  B-schools. The application process is open and if you hurry up and apply in time to these B-schools, you stand a fair chance to get shortlisted for final admission round

CMAT 2016 has become a yearly exam now. It is very much possible that there could be a slight variation in cult offs in admission to the B-schools. However, please be clear that timely submission of application can save you from the requirement of high cut offs later. It is advisable to apply immediately after checking your score for CMAT 2016

The learning experience and placement in these B-schools is as high as other ones. There could be varying cut-offs in the range of 50 to 100 or could go even higher depending upon the scoring pattern.
