Low score leading to high percentile
XAT 2016 remained a tough exam although XLRI had announced the significant changes to simplify and make XAT 2016 an easier exam. Not only this, the number of questions in all the 3 sections taken together were reduced from 84 to 78 while the time to solve these questions was increased from 150 minutes to 170 minutes. Going by the past trend and according to experts, it is expected that XLRI would shortlist you at 31 marks and SPJIMR with 29 marks apart from other highly ranked B-schools like Great lakes, IMT, K J Somaiya, TAPMI, XIMB going to shortlist with a score between 23 to 29 marks fetching a percentile between 80 to 90.

Immediately after declaration of XAT 2016 result XLRI is all set to announce the shortlist of candidates for an intake of 510 candidates to various PGDM programmes 2016-18 on January 31, 2016.
It is very much possible that the shortlist of candidates is announced by XLRI along with the XAT 2016 result or even before the result is declared.
Please note that the statement to declare XAT 2016 does not emphasize the declaration of result on January 31 but by Jan 31, 2016 signifying that the result could be declared even before the shared date.
