This year, the average stipend on campus has increased 25% from last year. According to IIM-K, PepsiCo, AIG, RPG Enterprises, IBM Business Consulting, YES BANK and Reliance Industries Ltd were amongst the recruiters who made the highest number of offers across business schools at IIMK this year. PricewaterhouseCoopers offered roles with the Performance Improvement division for the first time at IIMK.
There were batch of 193 students including members of Fellow Program in Management, where 66 top recruiters participated from India and abroad.
During IIM-K Summer Placement '08, Accenture Business Consulting and Boston Analytics offered the highest domestic stipend which was Rs 50,000 per month. YES BANK, Johnson & Johnson, HUL, Yahoo!, Edelweiss, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Ocwen, American Express, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Boston Analytics, Marico, CHAINalytics, Standard Chartered Bank, Deloitte Consulting Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, Asian Paints, and Tata Motors and others were the reputed companies participated this year.
IIM-K set up new relationships with 22 recruiting partners participated in placements at campus for the first time. Some of the new recruiters were Google, Freudenberg, Accenture Business Consulting, Citibank, Bank of America, KPMG, Coca Cola, PepsiCo and Hewitt Associates and others.
Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, IIM-K Placements Chairperson appreciated the success of Summer Palcements '08 and remarked "IIMK's placements have consistently bettered the records the institute has set for itself. In spite of IIMK setting an aggressive pace of growth, placements performance has consistently exceeded all expectations. This augurs well for the next decade of excellence for IIMK".
According to IIM-K, there were total 28% of the batch choose offers from finance sector, 22% of the batch selected marketing profiles. 20% of the batch accepted offers from Systems, Consulting internships were chosen by 16% of the batch, while the other 14% accepted offers from Operations (5%), HR (4%) and Others (5%).
