UPES MET-2016 for admission to 10 specialized MBA programmes commencing 2016 at College of Management & Economics Studies (CoMES), University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun will be conducted as the paper-pen mode test on March 13, 2016. UPES also proposes to launch 4 new MBA specializations namely MBA in HR, Marketing, Finance and Operations from the year 2016. The last date to apply for UPES MET 2016 is March 5, 2016.

UPES MET entrance test is organized by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies -UPES, Dehradun for admission to its 10 Industry aligned MBA programs in the high growth sectors of Oil & Gas, Power, Energy, Urban Infrastructure, Port & Shipping, Logistics & Supply Chain.

UPES MET 2016 will be conducted in 29 cities across India including major state capitals in paper pencil format.

2 Admission pathways
Admission to UPES MBA 2016-18 programme is open through 2 pathways namely by appearing in the UPES MET 2016 or through the scores in National level MBA entrance tests like CAT 2015, XAT 2016, MAT Sep/ Dec '15 and Feb/ May 2016 and CMAT 2016.

All the shortlisted candidates through either of the 2 admission processes shall have to attend the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for admission to MBA 2016-18 batch at UPES.

For MBA Oil & Gas / Power Management / Energy Trading / Logistics & Supply Chain Management /International Business : Students having minimum CAT score of 75 percentile or MAT score of 80 Percentile will be called directly for Group Discussion & Interview. NMAT score of 170 and above and valid CMAT 2016 scores will also be accepted.

For MBA Port & Shipping Management / Aviation Management / Infrastructure Management/ Business Analytics:Students having minimum CAT score of 70 Percentile or MAT score of 75 Percentile will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will only be called for Group Discussion & Interview.

Up to 50% seats are proposed to be filled through National Level Tests category at UPES, Dehradun.

Candidates whose CAT/ XAT/ MAT/CMAT /NMAT scores do not meet above-mentioned criteria, but they still have minimum 50% marks in Class 10th and Class 12th and in graduation, can seek admission to a UPES- MBA programs by taking the UPES Management Entrance Test (UPES MET) 2016 on March 13, 2016.

How to apply
To appear for UPES MET 2016 on March 13, 2016, candidate will be required to purchase the UPES Prospectus & Application form online by making payment of Rs.1850/-.  The last date to apply is March 5, 2016.

UPES MET 2016: Test pattern
UPES MET 2016 test will comprise 140 questions divided in 4 sections as listed below
Section-1: General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability – 35 questions
Section-2: Quantitative Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency – 35 questions
Section-3: General Awareness: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario – 35 questions
Section-4: Analytical & Logical Reasoning – 35 questions

UPES MET 2016 in 29 test cities
UPES MET 2016 will be held in 29 following test cities viz. Ahmedabad, Agra, Bangalore, Bhopal,  Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon,  Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Meerut, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Surat and Visakhapatnam.

Placement at UPES
UPES MBA Placement 2015 saw a grand success with 94 percent of the MBA batch well placed in just in 2 months of beginning of placement season. Notable recruiters who visited the UPES campus for placement 2015 and made offers include Accenture, Adani Wilmar, MEC Intelligence  Flipkart, Nestle, Grand View Research, IKEA, CMIE among others.

Students received pre-placement offers from the global FMCG major - Nestle India, ship management major – Transocean Shipping Ventures and a US based consulting and research firm - Grand View Research. The average package received by MBA students was INR 4.3 lacs with the highest package being INR 7.7 lacs.
