No change in exam structure and content in MAH CET 2016 exam for admission to MBA/MMS 2016-18 in top B-schools like JBIMS now calls for synchronising your preparation on past test pattern if you wish to score high in the exam.

There are hardly 10 days left for MAH CET 2016 which will be held on March 12 & 13, 2016 in multiple sessions. The exam will contain 200 MCQs divided in 3 sections and each of the 3 sections is equally important as you will lose your percentile rank in case you fail to score high marks in all the 3 sections. Each question carries maximum 1 mark and there is no fear of negative marking nor you will be restricted to move from section to other during the total test time of 150 minutes. But remember too much of guess work can result in more wrong answers apart from wastage of time. So it will be better to focus on systematic preparation and planned strategy to maximise your attempts with high accuracy.

155 needed to get into JBIMS
If you wish to get into MMS 2016-18 at JBIMS, you will need to score 155 out of 200 marks to be considered for this top rated B-school in Maharashtra. To maximise your scores you have to focus more on Reasoning and the Verbal Ability sections which have more questions.

How to prepare for VARC
In past exams MAH CET has been placing more questions on error corrections in sentences which are similar to the ones that appear in various recruitment examinations of Banks, Insurance companies, Central and state Governments.  Sentences are divided in 4 sections and the error from one of the sections has to be spotted. If there is no error option 5 has to be marked as answer.

Another type is that out of 4 sentences forming a paragraph, candidates have to read each sentence to find out whether there is any grammatical error in the sentence.

There are questions to fill in the blanks with appropriate words in a short paragraph. With simple and correct understanding of grammar and vocabulary usage, candidates can answer these questions well.

MAH CET 2016 may also have questions to complete the concluding part of the sentence and find the first sentence of the paragraph. Options in such questions are very close ones.

Questions on Jumbled paragraphs are of random type as well as are with opening or concluding sentence given in the question. Candidates are required to form a coherent paragraph for the remaining sentences taking lead from the beginning and concluding sentences.

Questions are also formed on core grammar like Active passive; reported speech; conditionals; modifiers and picking out correct synonyms and antonyms. Apart from this Moderate questions on analogy also make their presence in Verbal Ability section.

The RC passages in MAH CET 2016 are expected to be short on past pattern but may be followed by number of questions including questions like synonyms, antonyms as used in the passage,  the  tone and purpose of the passage, although in a different form. The level of difficulty of RC passages is moderate but the options are again very close and time factor remains short.

Candidates who can get around 32-35 questions correct out of total 50 questions in this section, may improve their overall percentile to a good extent to get admission in JBIMS and other top rated B schools.

Logical and Abstract Reasoning
This section includes Logical, Abstract, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. The first part is on Logical reasoning followed by second part on Abstract Reasoning. The first part consists of question sets following the given data; questions on series, statements, true false among others. Second part has questions like formation of words in a coded language and the candidates are required to find out the correct code for the given word.  Questions on series, arrangements, puzzles are although not very difficult but consume a lot of time. A good number of questions on Visual reasoning also appear in the exam. Both types of reasoning taken together, constitutes 100 questions or 50% questions out of 200 questions.

To score high in MAH CET 2016 it is but natural to score not less than 60 to 70 marks in reasoning section.

Quantitative Aptitude
Out of 50 questions in Quant section of MAH CET 2016, candidates have been able to attempt more than 35 questions. The need is speed and accuracy. JBIMS aspirants need to practice on variety of questions on Quant to improve their speed and accuracy. Since the questions are  doable but time consuming as they involve some tricks, aspirants with basic conceptual clarity and well practised strategy are able to solve these questions.

MAH CET 2016 is expected to have more questions on Geometry and Arithmetic. A few questions from Algebra may also make their appearance in the test.  There could be around 16 DI questions in sets that will also need more calculation and will consume more time. Candidates are advised to go well practiced and well prepared to take MAH CET 2016.
