Those who keep learning are likely to be the most successful. Those who stop learning, or believe that they have learnt enough, will from that point onward, cease to grow and add any real value R C Bhargava Chairman MUL

“Those who keep learning are likely to be the most successful. Those who stop learning, or  believe that they have learnt enough, will from that point onward, cease to grow and add any real value.” The 360 management graduates of the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) Greater Noida start their corporate journey with these words of wisdom spoken by Mr R C Bhargava, Chairman Maruti Udyog Limited at BIMTECH’s 28th Convocation celebrated for the batch of 2014-16 at its Greater Noida campus in the evening on April 3, 2016.

Delivering the Convocation speech as the Chief Guest, Mr Bhargava said "Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference." Mr. R.C. Bhargava who recently was awarded the esteemed lifetime achievement award at the Forbes India Leadership Awards  has also been conferred with Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in the field of Public affairs. Mr. Bhargava has also  written a book, ‘The Maruti Story’ and has also authored a book in Japanese on Suzuki’s strategy in India.

Addressing the students at the convocation Mr. Bhargava said, “Academic learning is essential for more efficient learning in the non-academic world. The process of Learning should continue for your entire life.
Mr. Bhargava believes that, “Leaders in the Industrial and business world can maximize their effectiveness in any nation only if they fully understand the political, economic and social culture of the country where they work, and adapt their policies and actions accordingly. In India management theories and practices are taught largely from the west.”

According to Mr. R.C. Bhargava, “if the Indian Industry is to grow at 15%+ a year, the bulk of the investments and growth has to come from the private sector. This is the sector that does not enjoy the trust of opinion makers, and hence of the political establishment. There is absolutely no doubt that unless the private sector, by its actions and practices, as well as better communication with opinion makers and the general public, wins their trust and confidence, the required changes will come very slowly. Both industry, and the nation will be losers.”

Around 360 students received their diploma on this day. 9 PhD scholars also received their doctoral degrees. The students who were felicitated with Gold Medals on the occasion for excellence in academic and extra-curricular activities include Kanika Goes for securing overall first position in PGDM; Mansi Sharma for securing overall first position in PGDM (IB); Loopmudra Pathak for securing overall first position in PGDM (IBM); Sonal Gupta for securing overall first position in PGDM(RM). Special medals and awards were conferred to Ruchi Aggarwal, Sonam Bijani, Kanika Goel, Aastha Garg, Aman Gandhi, Divya Sachdeva and Mansi Sharma.
