UPES Dehradun to conduct GD-PI for 10 MBA programmes from April 29; application process open

UPES will be conducting the GD-PI for admissions to its 10 specialized MBA programs from April 29 to May 1, 2016 in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Dehradun & Mumbai
Students having minimum 50% marks in class 10th and 12th, as well as in graduation and have scores in any of the national entrance tests or UPESMET-2 can register for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview

For admission to its 10 industry aligned MBA 2016-18 programmes in high growth sectors, College of Management & Economics Studies (CoMES), University of Petroleum and energy Studies –(UPES), Dehradun will be conducting the GD-PI from April 29 to May 1, 2016 across the country.

The GD/PI schedule will take-off on April 29 with first one being held in Ahmedabad and Kolkata. On April 30, GD/PI will be held in Delhi, Dehradun and Mumbai followed by Hyderabad on May 1, 2016.

Eligibility to participate in GD/PI
Students having minimum 50% marks in class 10th and 12th, as well as in graduation and have scores in any of the national entrance tests or UPESMET-2 can register for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Those who have appeared in graduation but Result is awaited can also apply.

  • -- UPESMET 2 QUALIFIED
  • -- Sept / Dec MAT 2015/ Feb MAT 2016/ CMAT 2016 score of minimum 75 percentile
  • -- CAT 2015/ XAT 2015 score of minimum 70 percentile
  • -- NMAT 2015 score of minimum 160.
  • -- GMAT 2015 score of minimum 550.

 
How to apply
The application process is online as well as candidates can directly approach the concerned person on mail or mobile to participate in GD-PI process.

Candidate is supposed to carry all the original documents (Class 10th, 12, & Graduation) for the verification process along with Rs.1750 in cash for prospectus and application form along with one passport size photograph.

Minimum required scores in different tests
Admission to UPES MBA 2016-18 programme is open through 2 pathways namely with the scores of UPESMET-2, 2016 or through the scores in National level MBA entrance tests like CAT 2015, XAT 2016, MAT Sep/ Dec '15 and Feb/ May 2016 and CMAT 2016.  

National Level Tests (CAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT)
For MBA Oil & Gas/Power Management/Energy Trading/Logistics & Supply Chain Management/International Business Students having minimum CAT score of 75 percentile or MAT score of 80 Percentile will be called directly for Group Discussion & Interview. Valid CMAT 2016 scores will also be accepted. NMAT score of 170 and above is required.

For MBA Port & Shipping Management/Aviation Management/Infrastructure Management/ Business Analytics
Students having minimum CAT score of 70 Percentile or MAT score of 75 Percentile will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will only be called for Group Discussion & Interview. NMAT score of 160 and above is required.

All the shortlisted candidates through either of the 2 admission processes shall have to attend the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for admission to MBA 2016-18 batch at UPES.

UPES: Placement 
UPES MBA Placement 2015 saw a grand success with 94 percent of the MBA batch well placed in just in 2 months of beginning of placement season. Notable recruiters who visited the UPES campus for placement 2015 and made offers include Accenture, Adani Wilmar, MEC Intelligence  Flipkart, Nestle, Grand View Research, IKEA, CMIE among others.
Students received pre-placement offers from the global FMCG major - Nestle India, ship management major – Transocean Shipping Ventures and a US based consulting and research firm - Grand View Research. The average package received by MBA students was INR 4.3 lacs with the highest package being INR 7.7 lacs

UPES placements has crossed the mark of 80% for the 2016 passing batch with the key recruiters from all sectors such as Hindustan Petroleum, Reliance, Total Oil, Adani Wilmar, Air Vistara, Spice Jet, Indigo, Infosys, L&T Infotech, Nestle, LG, Flipkart, Accenture, Infosys, DIESL, Thermax, Asian Paints, Grant Thornton, Mount Meru – Tanzania, Manikaran Power, Gulf Oil, to name a few and around 70% of these are repeat recruiters.
