It is important that you give time to each of the sections and not get bogged down by any one section.

Expected type of questions in MAT 2016 May CBT
Although the level of difficulty in MAT 2016 May CBT exam is not proposed to go higher than it was in Paper based test, you should practice more on following topics

Language comprehension
This section is expected to have 10 questions based on vocabulary comprising synonyms-antonyms, jumbled words and picking odd man out of them, inserting correct words to fill in the blanks.

There are expected to be 4 or 5 short comprehension passages followed by 4 questions each. Other questions may be based on jumbled paragraphs, core grammar usage, summary/main thought essence of paragraphs. Questions are expected to be moderately difficult and are supposed to be answered in 30 minutes.

Mathematical Skills
Expect 26 questions based on Arithmetic like Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Averages etc. The difficulty level may remain moderate but a few questions may be a bit more time consuming. Candidates with more practice will be able to do them well in time.  Those who attempt this section well may expect a higher percentile.

Intelligence and critical reasoning
This section is expected to consist of questions on Assertions reasons, Family tree, analogies, Direction, series, cause & effect, calendar, distribution, assertions.  The section is expected to remain doable with moderate level of difficulty.

Data analysis and Sufficiency
You may expect 70% questions on Data Interpretation in this section. Pie charts, bar diagrams, charts, line graph, data comparison may remain the main topics on which questions can be based. Most of the questions are expected to be of moderate difficulty level while a few will be more time consuming.

This section needs consistent and intelligent practice on the sets of questions as well as individual questions. Any laxity may leave you behind your peers.

Indian and Global environment
The 40 questions in this section would not count for calculation of percentile in MAT 2016 and the total score will be calculated on the basis of other 4 sections. However this section is still an integral part of the test and one has to score well in it as the marks will be considered at the final admission round in the B school.

Questions in this section may be based on conventional GK, business and economics, current affairs. 15 minutes is a sufficient time to answer this section.

Get ready for Surprise element
No doubt that the same pattern with 5 sections will appear on the computer screens of MAT 2016 test takers on May 7, 2016, Computer Based MAT may have different difficulty level and candidates may also expect surprise elements, as such it is advisable to revise which has not appeared in paper pencil mode but is covered in MAT syllabus.

Score cards for MAT 2016 May exam are expected to be made available by AIMA in the last week of May 2016. The score card can be downloaded from the AIMA website. Provision of getting a duplicate score card for the test from AIMA is also available.More than 330 institutes across India are expected to accept MAT 2016 May scores.
