IIM Visakhapatnam has announced the Phase 2 shortlist of candidates for PGP 2016-18 batch after completing the process in phase 1
Candidates who are shortlisted / interviewed by any one or more of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow will not be required to appear for the personal interview of IIM Visakhapatnam

After completing the process in phase 1, IIM Visakhapatnam has announced the Phase 2 shortlist of candidates for PGP 2016-18 batch. The shortlisted candidates have to appear now in Personal Interview & Written Ability Test to be conducted under the mentorship of IIM Bangalore.

The phase-2 shortlist has been declared after the candidates shortlisted in phase-1 had reconfirmed their interest by April 28, 2016. Those who missed the deadline may not participate in PI and WAT for admission to IIM Visakhapatnam.

Academic scores played key role
For all the Qualified Confirmed Candidates shortlisted for phase-2 , the candidates' percentage scores in the 10th and 12th board exams are adjusted by dividing each such score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that board.

The database of 10th and 12th scores of all CAT applicants of the past two years is used for identifying the 90th percentile score for each 10th and 12th board for this purpose.  Final scores obtained by the candidate are used for the bachelors' degree and professional degrees (if any).

Graduation scores are adjusted within their respective categories. This gives the adjusted score for the bachelor's degree for all Qualified Confirmed Candidates.

CA/CS only eligible for professional courses weight
Candidates with Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting, and Company Secretary certifications are eligible for weight under professional course. IIM Visakhapatnam will not award weight to any other professional course.

Weightage to work experience
For all Qualified Confirmed Candidates, the score/weight for work experience is calculated as
Score for Work Experience = 5x/36 (if 0 < x < 36)
= 5 (if x >= 36)
Where x is the months of work experience up to September 2015, as captured in CAT application form (and substantiated in the application to IIM Visakhapatnam). This implies that the score will be the highest at 36 months work experience and will remain at that level for candidates with work experience exceeding 36 months.

CAT score awarded lowest weightage
Please note according to IIM Visakhapatnam ‘the maximum of the work experience score and the professional course score is considered for selection under a common weight of 5 for work experience or professional course - since both provide professional work experience relevant to a management programme.’

Weights for all the components are fixed and would be as under while making final admission offer to the candidate
