IIM Nagpur has released the admission offers on May 14 and has fixed May 23, 2016 as the last date to receive the acceptance letter and demand draft for commitment Fee of Rs.50,000/- at the institute. The candidates who have received the provisional admission offers should send confirmation through website latest by today May 20, 2016. The academic session at IIM Nagpur is proposed to commence in the 3rd week of June 2016.
The next batch of admission offers, in case the candidates in first set do not send acceptance by due date will be released today on May 20, 2016. The last date fixed for this batch to receive the acceptance letter and demand draft for commitment fee at IIM Nagpur has been fixed as May 28, 2016.
IIM Nagpur announcing its admission policy had shared that the CAT-2015 score is the single criterion used as the basis for arriving at the first short-list.
PGP 2016-18 batch with 60 students
IIM Nagpur does not propose to increase the intake from 60 students even for its second PGP batch although it was decided in the Union Cabinet Meeting held on June 24, 2015 that the new IIMs should have an intake of 140 students each.
Class strength for PGP 2016-18 has been kept at the last year’s level due to the fact that not even 60 students preferred to go for IIM Nagpur in its maiden batch. The first PGP 2015-17 batch at IIM Nagpur has 55 students, 5 short of the intake.
IIMN achieves 100% summer placement for first batch
IIM Nagpur has successfully completed its summer placement for the first batch of PGP 2015-2017 and all PGP participants have started their internships by now.
There were many interested companies offering summer placement to the IIM Nagpur students. But out of them only 24 companies from different domains were able to get summer interns from the limited pool of 53 participants available for summer placements.
Companies that made offers include Axis Bank, Calderys, CIIE@IIMA, Excellon, Exide Life Insurance, KPMG, Maharashtra Government (including the Chief Minister's Office), Maharashtra State Skill Development Society, Oyo Rooms, Panasonic, Persistent, Taxi for Sure, TCS, Technopak, Tega Industries, Voonik, Yes Bank and several fast growing SMEs & start-ups. The list excludes companies that participated, but where PGP participants did not go for their internships.
This year, locations for summer internship are at Agra, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Goa, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara.
IIM Nagpur Fee structure
You will have to shell out Rs.10.68 lakhs as 2 years fee to pursue PGP 2016-18 at IIM Nagpur. You will get your Rs.10,000/- of caution deposit back at the time of leaving the institute.
In comparison to older IIMs and other top rated B-schools who have a fee structure between 14 to 20 lakhs, the fee at IIM Nagpur can be considered reasonable.
IIM Nagpur is temporarily located within the campus of VNIT, Nagpur. It will operate from its transit campus, till it moves to its own campus (of approx 200 acres) in about 3 years time. IIM Ahmedabad will mentor all activities at IIM Nagpur till it moves to its permanent campus or IIM Nagpur is able to handle these activities entirely on its own, whichever is earlier. Since recruiting full-time faculty is a fairly long process, during the mentorship period and while IIM Nagpur's own faculty are recruited, faculty members from IIM Ahmedabad will be delivering courses at IIM Nagpur.
The overall design, quality and delivery of PGP will be to the standards and with direct involvement of IIM Ahmeadabad. Candidates going to join IIM Nagpur should expect to see some of the best faculty members in the country today.
