DTE Maharashtra has also re-opened the registration and application process to participate in CAP 2016 for All India as well as Maharashtra State candidates.

MBA Admission opportunity re-opened
Opening of CAP 2016 registration for all the candidates is a good opportunity for MBA admission seekers.

Candidates who did not register and also did not appear in MAHCET 2016 earlier can apply again for admission to JBIMS, SIMSREE, DSIMS, N L Dalmiya, K J Somaiya and other 400 B-schools. These candidates should have taken at least one of the National Level exams like CAT 2015/XAT 2016/CMAT 2016; MAT Feb 2016; ATMA or GMAT if MAHCET 2016 was not attended, to become eligible to be considered for MBA.

While IIMs have also announced their admission results and it is expected that around 20000 candidates with All India status with high percentile will also be exploring admission opportunities in top rated B schools in Maharashtra. Intake increased to 59000
Around 59000 candidates are expected to be offered admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes in 400+ B-schools across Maharashtra.

In 2012 there were only 34 thousand seats for various MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes in Maharashtra; this number was increased to 45 thousand in 2014. Since JBIMS was awarded autonomous status in 2015, thousands of candidates did not participate in CAP 2015 as JBIMS conducted its own GD/PI in 2015.

The chances are that almost all of the candidates who have already registered or intend to register for CAP 2016 now, may get admission in one or other B school in Maharashtra.

Good Opportunity for CMAT 2016/MAT Feb 2016 takers

The candidates who took MAT Feb 2016 or CMAT 2016 but missed to register for MAHCET 2016 have a good opportunity to register for CAP round. It is expected that you could get a good B school in Maharashtra even at a low percentile.

The fee for MBA/MMS/PGDM programme in Maharashtra in a management institute taking part in DTE conducted CAP is decided by ‘Shikshan Shulka Samiti’ and it can be as low as Rs.2 to 3  lakhs across Maharashtra. This fee structure is lower than the cost of pursuing MBA from private B schools in other parts of the country where the fee may be as high as Rs.8 to 14 lacs.

Placement in B schools in Maharashtra is also good and students of many institutes like JBIMS, SIMSREE, KJ Somaiya, N L Dalmiya, SIES, IESMCRC, MET, DSIMS, DY Patil, PUMBA, Singhad secure placement packages as high as the students in other top rated B schools.

The registration in MAHCET CAP 2016 may be a windfall in terms of seeking admission in B schools in Maharashtra.

To participate in CAP 2016, candidates should apply online and make online payment only. To facilitate the process DTE Maharashtra has identified more than 220 institutions from the state for the work of the receipt of the application form. These institutions are called Facilitation Centres (FCs). More number of such FCs have been opened in Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad to expedite the process of CAP 2016.
