IIM Bangalore awarded 47 rank in FT Global schools Executive Education Rankings; only Indian B school among top 50

Yet another crown is added to the glory of CAT 2016 convening IIM Bangalore on being awarded the 47th position in the overall Financial Times Executive Education 2016 Ranking. Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is the only Indian Management School to be featured in the 2016 Financial Times Executive Education Top 50 Rankings announced on May 23, 2016.

Moving up from last year IIM Bangalore is ranked alongside prestigious universities like London Business School, IESE, IMD, Harvard Business School, University of Oxford, among others. After making a debut in the Financial Times Customized Executive Education Rankings 2015 with a rank of 57, IIMB has moved up 10 spots this year (2016) to 47th rank, thus positioning itself among the Top 50 in Customized Education as well.

The FT 2016 rankings are based on the participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, the diversity of participants and faculty and the schools international exposure. The participant schools are marked on different parameters by the companies that commission executive courses, participants of these courses and the data reported by the business schools.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Shyamal Roy, Chairperson, Executive Education Programmes, IIM Bangalore  said “IIMB’s consistent ranking, year on year, in the Financial Times Rankings reflects our ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving business and economic ecosystem. It is an acknowledgment of our commitment to design and offer top-notch programmes for senior executives from industry and government.”

Chief Programmes Officer, Executive Education Programmes, IIM Bangalore Madan Mohan Raj added further “At IIMB, we focus on building leaders and work with organizations to cultivate creative leadership by designing programmes that have real impact on their business.  It is a delight to be recognized and rewarded for our endeavours in Executive Education Programmes.”

IIMB’s Executive Education offers non-degree programmes to corporations and working professionals which are either ‘Customized’ according to the requirement of the organization or ‘Open’  for all professionals for enrolment. IIMB occupies the 57th position in the Open Executive Education Ranking this year.

After getting crowned at 31st rank in the ‘2016 SCM World University 100’ survey by SCM World with the prestigious distinction of being the only Asian Management School  to be ranked in 2016 SCM Ranking , this is another achievement that IIM Bangalore has made. Other universities like University of Michigan, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, INSEAD, University of Texas at Austin, among others have also been ranked in this prestigious survey by SCM World.

One of the top 3 business schools in India, IIM Bangalore has also been ranked #1 in the NIRF 2016 rankings of Government of India. It is the only Indian B-school in GNAM list. IIM Bangalore has been accredited by EQUIS the international accreditation agency and is the first B-School in Asia to sign an agreement with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) to distribute faculty teaching cases. IIM Bangalore has produced leaders, entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, artists, writers , managers who collectively have a wealth of knowledge and experience.  Some of the prominent alumni of IIM Bangalore include academicians such as Aswat Damodaran, Raghavendra Rau, Karan Bajaj, great author and film maker Nila Madhab Panda.  K. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of ISRO and business executives like Ravi Subramanian and Sameer Suneja.

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 the entrance exam for IIMs and other top rated B-schools like FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, JBIMS, NITIE, IMI, IMT among others is also going to be convened by IIM Bangalore in the month of November 2016. It is expected that CAT 2016 would be a different exam than the earlier exams.
