Last year candidates had to apply separately to JBIMS but for MMS admission 2016 there is no need to apply separately to JBIMS as the candidate will now be allotted the seat in the B-school through the CAP round.
Registration for old or new candidates for admission to JBIMS and other B schools through CAP will close on June 3, 2016

Registration for MAHCET CAP 2016 is going to close on June 3 and as such only 3 days are left to finalise your registration for admission to JBIMS Mumbai and other 400 B-schools of Maharashtra through CAP 2016. Candidates with scores obtained in any of the All India MBA entrance exams or in MAHCET 2016, can be allotted a seat in JBIMS or other top rated B-school.

JBIMS Mumbai has already announced that it will offer admission to its flagship MMS 2016-18 programme only through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) being conducted by DTE Maharashtra. There are more than 400 B-schools having a total intake of 59000 candidates in Maharashtra where admission will be offered only through CAP round.

JBIMS admission with de-reservation policy
The de-reservation policy at JBIMS Mumbai shall brighten the chances for all the candidates exploring admission opportunity in the B-school.  JBIMS Mumbai follows the ‘de-reservation policy’  implying conversion of reserved seats into open for all candidates. The policy allows that all the open or other category candidates will be considered for admission at JBIMS in case suitable candidates for the reserved 60 seats do not take admission in JBIMS.

JBIMS Mumbai has an intake of 120 seats for MMS and 30 for M Sc Finance for the batch 2016-18.

Out of the intake of 120 MMS seats 60 seats are reserved for all backward class category students only from State of Maharashtra and 60 Seats are open for both eligible Maharashtra State and outside Maharashtra State candidates.  Backward class category students from States other than Maharashtra are also covered under the Open category. According to JBIMS, ‘De-reservation policy (conversion of "reserved seats" into "open for all") will be applicable in dearth of suitable candidates for seats reserved.’

JBIMS now an autonomous institute
In the academic session 2015-16, JBIMS Mumbai was granted the status of autonomous institute affiliated to Mumbai University. Although the B schools accepted MAHCET scores but it conducted its own Personal Interview (PI) round and was not a part of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra. Besides, JBIMS launched its own admission application process which was closed much earlier than DTE issued notification for MAHCET exam.  Not only this, for last year admission JBIMS did not accept CMAT/MAT/ATMA etc scores. Only CAT and MH-CET scores were considered as the qualifying exams for admission to JBIMS.

The process has changed for admission 2016-18. All the scores are acceptable as JBIMS has announced ‘Admission for Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai for two years Masters in Management Studies (MMS) programme will be done through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Maharashtra.'

CAP 2016: Process to close on June 3
Whether you are an already registered candidate or a new candidates, you can register only till June 3, 2016. You must have appeared in one of the specified exams, only then you will be able to apply for admission through CAP.

After  submitting the application online, you will be called for in-person assessment at one of 217 Facilitation Centres (FCs) and will be scored on the basis of the performance in Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

The evaluation criteria will take into account the complete personality of the candidate, which includes various parameters like score in the exam; extra-curricular activities and other significant achievements.

Work experience is also a component of the CAP round but if a fresher has other substantial credentials, he/she can cover up in other parameters. Work-experience alone would not be the deciding criteria.

No separate application for JBIMS
Last year candidates had to apply separately to JBIMS but for MMS admission 2016 there is no need to apply separately to JBIMS as the candidate will now be allotted the seat in the B-school through the CAP round.

JBIMS has a legacy of 45 years. The B school has produced many industry leaders who visit the institute to share their practical experiences while climbing the ladder of hierarchy.  This is the biggest advantage in view of the students at this B school.

The B school is located in the heart of Mumbai in Churchgate area and this advantage can never fade as it is the centre of commercial activity.

Education at JBIMS is not limited to conventional class room experience. It is coordinated with vast industrial exposure also. The kind of grooming and peer learning that a candidate undergoes at JBIMS is an altogether different experience.

Learning at JBIMS is learning by faculty from Industry leaders. The faculty comprises industry stalwarts who do not limit their teaching to mere textbook tales, their practical knowledge benefits one and all as well.

Placements at JBIMS are spectacular in terms of companies visiting campus and profiles being offered apart from achieving 100% placement year after year. Placement 2016 saw substantial increase in average placement package to Rs.18.13 lakhs from Rs. 17.42 lakhs in 2015 in JBIMS. Around 42% placement offers were made by BFSI recruiters and 50% of the batch was offered PPOs and PPIs. Entire batch of 119 MMS 2014-16 students at JBIMS got placed in the shortest period.
