SIBM Bengaluru concludes MBA Placement 2016 with higher packages; BFSI & IT recruit 56% students

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bengaluru has ended its Placement Season on a high, for the batch of 2014 - 2016. The number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) has also increased as compared to last year. The PPOs by market leaders such as Dell, Genpact, Fidelity Investments, Cummins, D.E. Shaw, and Wildcraft among others were bagged by the students on their calibre and stellar performance during their summer internships.

Key Recruiters
In addition to traditional business houses, this year SIBM Bengaluru forged new corporate relations with industry leaders like Toyota, ITC, Citibank, NetApp and so on through the various engagement modules such as - guest sessions, live projects, etc. Overall, there were 45 first time engagements while all the students who opted for placements were happy to have a job at the end of the season.

JP Morgan, Capgemini, HDFC Life, Tata Motors, Crisil, Deloitte, Accenture, Morgan Stanley, Honeywell are some of the marquee companies that have already hired from the batch in this season.

Highest & Average salary up
The highest domestic CTC increased by 8.06% going to Rs. 16.75 lakhs per annum while the average domestic CTC increased by 8.34% raising it to 9.22 LPA this year.

Highest International salary package also increased to Rs.22 lakhs per annum. There were 34 PPOs grabbed by SIBM students.

Sectoral Placements
BFSI recruited highest number of 31% students followed by IT/ITES with 25%. Consulting sector contributed 15% share in placement 2016 followed by Manufacturing with 7% and Retail with 6%. Rest 15% students received offers from other sectors.

Placements for the year highlight positive trends both in terms of compensation as well as quality of profiles offered. The varied roles offered include the following - Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Social Media Marketing, B2B & B2C Marketing, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Market Research, Investment Banking, HR consultant, Equity Research, Credit Risk Analysis, Logistics, Consulting, Corporate HR and the like.
